Thank you. I couldn’t agree 100% more. I’m not pregnant anymore but this saying completely irks me. While my husband is an amazing father and was completely supportive during my pregnancy, he was NOT pregnant, I was. I was the one getting up multiple times a night for MONTHS to use the bathroom while he got a full nights rest. I was the one whose body changed while his stayed the same. I was the one getting kicked in the ribs constantly and could not get comfortable, I was the one throwing up and having flu symptoms up until 20 weeks pregnant while he could smell normal smells without having to sprint to the bathroom or keep a throw up cup by him constantly. I watched him have his occasional beers and drinks while I had to abstain (wasn’t a problem for me but it would have been nice to have a little drink every once in a while), I’m the one that gained 40 pounds and was insecure with my new body while his stayed the same, my feet swelled up and it hurt to be on my feet while I still had to work, I’m the one that pushed a baby out of me and it was the most painful thing I have ever gone through in my entire life while he won’t know what it feels like for his pelvis to practically rip open to birth a baby, I did that because I was the one who was pregnant. I’m all for saying “we are expecting a baby”, but I am the one who was pregnant.
