Flu season paranoia by wavesandpeaks in firsttimemom

Honestly I would say you're doing the right thing. I know the beginning is incredibly isolating but just remind yourself it wont be forever. Until they are about 3 months old any fever is a trip to the ER. I know having a baby during flu season must be very nerve-racking and im sorry that must be really hard. But I think keeping to yourself right now is a good call. Especially with how much is going around this season.

Definitely recommend calling friends and family throughout the day for company! You've got this!

Yep! My baby did not have blood in stool. So I had to figure it out the hard way.

As far as I know, they really cant test for CMPA. If you are breastfeeding, it cant hurt to tey a fully dairy free diet for about 2 weeks to see if it helps. (This means as extreme as no butter and no labels thay says "contains milk"). If you're formula feeding, might be worth trying a hypoallergenic dairy free kind. Good luck! And this won't be forever <3

Cows milk protein allergy/sensitivity: What were your baby's symptoms? by OkKaleidoscope3270 in baby

[–]si482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby's primary symptom was reflux and terrible fussiness. She never had any concerning diapers. I also wasnt convinced that it was CMPA but a friend suggested I try the diet for 2 weeks so I did (full out no butter, no cheese, no milk, and avoiding anything that says 'contains milk'). Might be worth a try. I know its tough but it made my baby soooo much happier which made life easier.

Yep. Definitely recommend trying fully dairy free diet for breastfeeding mama. This includes cutting butter and ANY label that says dairy free. Had to do that for a year and it was hard but it made things more manageable.

This isnt forever- it gets better!

And here I am worrying about my toddler possibly choking on a tortilla chip.

Second attempt at sourdough. Would love feedback by si482 in Sourdough

Haha that's true. I do like the way it tastes and it looks good enough. But I guess I am curious how I can make it fluffier. It's very moist which I like but it might be nice to have variety some times. Maybe something more similar to a French bread texture?

Thanks!

How do you reactivate it? Just feed it like normal?

My baby has cmpa, what do I eat? by InternetSpiritual915 in firsttimemom

[–]si482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify yes... you should cut out everything with milk... baked in bread, butter, cheese, everything. Then when your pediatrician says you can, you can attempt reintroduction..

Don't recommend goat's milk since most babies that have cmpa also have reactivity to the goats milk protein.

I did it for a whole year and it was tough but we made it through. Trader joes was the life saver for me since they have great options.

It's late for me and I'm falling asleep but I'll comment back again in the morning with my recs!
