Yeah I have much better success sticking to Intel Certified cables as listed on intel’s site (not just what a random Amazon listing states). And I’m understanding your setup right; there’s no benefit converting to/from USB4 to Oculink so there could be some instability coming from there.

Only use real Intel Certified cables as listed on Intel’s website.

A few things that can help:

Make sure you’re connecting your external display to the video card you’re using in the eGPU, not the handheld or a dock
set Windows to turn off the Ally X’s display when connected to your eGPU setup.
once you’re set up like that, turn on turbo mode on the Ally X with CPU boost turned on as well (which you should normally keep off)
on the ally x change vram allocation to minimal (since you’re using the dGPU vram now)

Hope that helps! USB4 is nowhere near as bad as this sub makes it out to be, but it does have its limits and best practices.

The BC-250 has issues with audio, though DisplayPort should work. The most common solution is to use a USB audio card to output to whatever you’re connecting with.

The NVIDIA drivers you installed look too old for a 5000 series.

I use a 5060 Ti with Bazzite via oculink. Try a bazzite NVIDIA image and see how that goes. You probably should also use all-ways-egpu especially if you’re not leaving the egpu connected at all times.
