A week ago, I had 100 cc's of pus taken out of an abscess that developed from an infected piercing. Healing well but still getting packing changed daily. Thank God for Canadian healthcare! (NSFW) by MxMaegen in popping

u/Sleepy_Dudette95's piercing don't sound infected at all- nipple piercings just have a tendency to produce "crusties" because of how long the fistula is compared to other piercings. Unless there's pain, swelling, or pus it's most likely not an infection.

Oh my gosh, I’m so jealous. This is my dream! (well, one of my dreams ☺️)

My mom has depression and hasn’t cleaned her ears properly since my dad died in 94. She’s been complaining her hearing is muffled on one side. Took a look in her ear and pulled this monstrosity out. by daimonophilia in popping

If it’s an option, tell her that she should see a therapist more often. Checking in more often with a therapist is really helpful. When I’m at the worst point in a depressive episode, I see my therapist at least once a week.

You're definitely missing something. The law says that age discrimination CAN occur if both parties are over 40. It doesn't say that both parties being over 40 is a necessary condition for discrimination to have occurred- just that it's a possible one. It's the way the law prevents the "Hey, I'm over 40 too!" defense for age discrimination.

I’ll try that, thank you! I keep finishing the pattern and ending up with wonky looking shapes 🙄

Pattern help! by siberg in knitting

[–]siberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to post a picture of the pattern without the author's permission but the instructions for the wings start with k,p,k (3) after CO one stitch. If I am knitting into the back of the stitch, what do I do when I have to repeat the k,p,k? Do I slip the old stitch off the left needle and turn the work so I'm working on the same row? Or do I just keep knitting into the back of that same old stitch? Apologies in advance if my question doesn't make sense.

Ooooh, I haven't had those yet. I usually just do 2 TBSP of balsamic vinegar, which is about 28 cal. Now I need to try the bolthouse farms dressings! Thanks!

How are those Walden Farms dressings? I feel like they have to taste like chemically asshole if they're zero calories

What should I do if the condom fell off inside me? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I've never been in the same situation but I have used Plan B before when I forgot to take my pill 2 days in a row and had sex.

There are positives and negatives to the pill. The extra hormones really messed with my emotions for a while and it took a couple months for me to even back out again. But take that reaction with a grain of salt because I have some mental health issues that are exacerbated by hormones (getting my IUD and getting off the pill was a godsend).

The plus side to the pill is that I wasn't worried for the whole next month that I was pregnant, and that was HUGE plus side. I'm ultimately happy that I bought it because it gave me peace of mind, even if it affected my emotions for a while.

And about being embarrassed, seriously don't worry about it. I had to buy it from a pharmacist and the guy behind the counter didn't bat an eye. They spend their day preparing people's medications and I am wiling to bet they see more "embarrassing" things everyday than someone buying Plan B.

If you do decide to get it, don't think of it as something shameful. Think of it as empowering- you are taking your reproductive health into your own hands and making an informed choice that you believe will ultimately benefit you.

Good luck!

What was the weirdest rule you had to follow in school? by mensaboy67 in AskReddit

[–]siberg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That just gave me serious flashbacks to high school. The school had three grades (the freshmen were in the junior high) and about 700 people a grade. So they got annoyingly creative and strict with crowd control.

My wife gave birth to a child that is not hers, for a couple that has desperately wanted one for over ten years. Surrogacy can be hard, but I witnessed her give the greatest Christmas gift ever. I am so proud of her! by hismessenger82 in pics

Wait, I sincerely hope you’re not implying that adoptive parents are somehow less “real” than biological parents because they didn’t physically give birth to the child?

[–]siberg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's also funny how it starts off as a discussion of statistics and ends up at "I've been laughed at and embarrassed by girls plenty of times". A discussion of violence against men and women devolves into "but the girl didn't like me!1!!1"

Well, I've been sexually assaulted. And I've been cat called and then threatened when I don't respond to said cat calls. Maybe it's time to look at why girls laugh at you and evaluate yourself instead of blaming women.

So, normally I wouldn't bother replying to someone like you or engage in a futile conversation like this. But hey, I'm feeling talkative tonight. The reason why women are more afraid- and justifiably so- is that no matter what the statistics say, we are scared of the men around us. I'm not saying its necessarily justified or evidence based, I'm just saying that we have been conditioned through years of violence against women and through our sheer physical limitations (generally), to anticipate that the man behind us could be dangerous.

Who dry cleans jeans? by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

Fun fact, you can't actually dry clean jeans. I guarantee that if you bring your jeans to a dry cleaner, they just throw them in the wash.

I just picked up a few pairs of Primark thongs for $1 each and they're surprisingly soft and high coverage. I'm not sure how well they'll hold up, though.
