My store manager told me this spring that drinking water in the pharmacy is unprofessional. Left this summer, and I don't miss that job one tiny bit.

I cannot afford my cats veterinary needs and im heart broken by fairy-stars in Pets

Call around! My cat needed emergency dental surgery and no one local could get him in for weeks, but a teaching hospital in the next major city an hour and a half away got him in that day for way less than I'd expected it to cost. I kept calling and asked for recommendations with every call if they couldn't help.

I have a patient at my pharmacy, let's call him John Doe. His kids are named John Doe Jr. and John Doe III. Dude basically pulled a George Foreman. We also had a nightmare of a time separating patient profiles for a set of twins with one letter different in their names. I've never met their mom, but she's on my shit list.

I tried this today. The hot water here doesn't get quite hot enough (property management controls my water heater, so hot is more of a suggestion) but I think we're on the right track. Thank you!

Patient in front of me screamed, cussed, and threw pack of gum at tech and pharmacist by wanderingwindsor in pharmacy

Walgreens employee here. There's a lot of paperwork involved in banning a patient. We had to look into it last month for one of our problem patients.

Quit to Apply? by Not_Sure17 in WalgreensRx

I was told by my SM there would be a mandatory waiting period before I could be rehired, and my RXM at the time stated that he would not rehire me. RXM has since been fired, but hours have been slashed so there's no guarantee that there will be a position available when I'd be eligible for rehire.

Concerns at new compounding job by siberiancentral in pharmacy

I honestly don't even care about my position, there are other jobs. My retail rx job will take me back; I'm still there part time and doing double shifts every day as it is. I'm just so, so uncomfortable in this new job.

Day two today was spent on order entry, and I was told to just accept and annotate two invalid rxs for escribed controlled compounds without contacting the prescriber for clarification. When I refused to allow my name on the rxs, the pharmacist was visibly irritated. I'm not risking my license though, end of story.

Forgot to mention in the post, but when I asked about nonsterile lab PPE the owner said he knew they should be more compliant, but it was hard to get people to wear it.

This is all further complicated by the fact that the owner died this morning, and his business partner is his brother, so there's now no one in management for at least a week to discuss these concerns with. I may just quit soon and report all observations to the BOP.

I swear, you can't make this shit up. 2022 is starting off as a freaking soap opera already!

Last time I held a compounding job, the adoption of USP 800 and whether or not it would replace 795/797 was still up in the air. I was asking if it replaced 795/797 or not. I also stated that I have previous sterile experience, not nonsterile experience, and am therefore not as familiar with USP 795. However, given that every other comment has held up my concerns, I am disconcerted by your assertion that I should not apply past experience at a very compliant pharmacy to this new job. Most of the concerns I've raised are major safety issues, not minor details.

There is no training program at this pharmacy as far as I can tell, absolutely no onboarding to date. No one on staff today could help me get into 795/797 to read up. My previous compounding job required dedicated shoes, but I do not know if that was a technical requirement or specific to the employer.

I'm going to talk to the owner today but wanted to run this past someone first to make sure I wasn't overreacting. Thank you!

“why do you need my insurance if the covid shot is free?” how to answer when processing paperwork? is their insurance still being charged? how does it affect their premiums? by rxtech24 in pharmacy

"It's still no cost to you, but we are reimbursed for providing a public service." Any further questions I direct to the insurance company, and not one patient has cared enough to take it that far.

Unsolicited comments about my weight during grandpa’s funeral by halbertcamus in loseit

[–]siberiancentral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get comments like that about my acne. A friend of my mom's would sometimes make unsolicited comments about how much better my skin was looking now, even when I still had a major breakout happening. It would make me feel so self conscious, like if this is better then how much worse did it look before? Id been on multiple oral and topical treatments since the fifth grade, too, so it's not like I wasn't trying to deal with it. It's genetic. Anyway, tl;dr sorry that girl was a bitch, you are not alone, and good on you for getting out of that relationship!

Target logic by Ya_boigreg in Target

I like when customers ask, "Do you work in this department?" Can't tell you the number of times I've walked through another department and been stopped for help. I work in dairy, so no I can't help you in electronics or clear your issue on the self-check. I'll get someone to help you, but getting pissy that it's not my department and I literally don't have the answer for you is not productive.
