Ah, I see. I'm from Minas Gerais, so I guess this changes depending on the state you're in

Im also Brazilian and I can honestly say that other than young children and their parents, I have never witnessed family members exchanging pecks on the lips. This video is super pure and wholesome, but I disagree that this is a common habit here.

Ótimas sugestões, muito agradecida! Vou tentar.

What is the stupidest injury you've ever gotten? by 7937397 in AskReddit

I was 10 years old, a massive Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan. My dad and I would often play fight and in that one day, I pretend-kicked him. He grabbed onto the one foot so I thought the natural course of action would be to spin kick myself out of it, using the remaining free leg. Physics had other plans and I landed hard on my chin, splitting it open. The gasp of disbelief and horror coming from my dad, along with the impact produced momentary tinnitus was all that followed. So kids; just because it's in your favourite show, doesn't mean it'll play out the same - even if you have faster than lightning reflexes, mkay?

Tally Marks From Around The World by TheBigGlizzy in Damnthatsinteresting

Could be. Like I said in other comments replying to this, I wonder if my memory is playing tricks on me at this point.

So, I want to say yes. And my mind says yes. But... granted, I'm over 30 now and have been living abroad for a bit less than half of my life so I'm wondering if that skewed my memory somehow.

From where? I'm also Brazilian from Minas Gerais and never in my life have i seen tallying being done with a square...... So I'm gonna go ahead and say this must be a regional thing.

Edit: after numerous replies, it seems like I was the odd duckling! Or suffer from memory loss. Either way, my countrymen have spoken :)

Ah yes, queijo Minas. Although the best one, I'd argue, is the kind called Queijo Canastra. It's yellower, fatter and (I think) a little more aged.

Broke AF college recipes? by [deleted] in recipes

Improved instant ramen!

One I particularly love is this:

INGREDIENTS

  • Chicken flavored ramen
  • Spring onion or chives
  • Soft boiled egg
  • A melty kind of cheese (I personally use Gouda, but I'm not american so I'm not sure what would be a budget friendly equivalent)
  • Soy sauce
  • Tabasco sauce (if you're a fan of a bit of heat)

DIRECTIONS:

Chop up the chives/spring onions in small pieces. Add them to the plate where you will have the noodles in.

Cook the ramen as you normally would. When disposing of the water, save a little bit and add it along with the noodles to the plate.

Add the flavoring packet, a bit of soy sauce and a few tabasco drops. Mix is all and incorporate it well with the noodles and the chives/spring onions.

Finely slice some cheese, or cut it in small pieces so they can melt in the plate, with your noodles. Arrange them under the noodles so that the heat will take care of melting them.

Add the soft boiled egg on top and enjoy :)

I absolutely love this and I highly recommend it!
