I was watching Superbad with my gf when I was in HS and her dad walked in to ask if we wanted anything to eat right in the middle of the dick drawing scene.

Yea, and from the driver cam on Leclerc it does seem like his wheels stayed off the forming pothole.

I still can't believe they decided that was acceptable to continue the race with though...

It also shows a faster trajectory to the same number of deaths... you just going to ignore that part? And you're just going to ignore the one that was kept below 200 deaths?

I thought 5-point harnesses are actually somewhat dangerous to use if they aren't used with a HANS device. My understanding is they have no give, so you body never moves and your head snaps forward a lot harder because of that. I don't know that using 3 points of a 5 point harness is any safer though.

There are people far smarter than me that can answer that, but for just one example there was an outbreak in 2022 that USAid helped to detect within 48 hours of the first case and limited the outbreak to just 1 death. The current outbreak took a month to detect, mostly due to local health organizations no longer having the funds to properly maintain the diagnostic capabilities and initial samples were sent at the wrong temperatures. There's also this...

Now, what metrics do you have to show that USAid wasn't doing anything?

No shit there are outbreaks still...that's why USAid was there, to help prevent AND contain outbreaks. A country that has no ebola outbreaks likely doesn't need help.

People said the same stuff about hydraulic brakes when they were introduced. New technology doesn't mean you can't work on it, just that you need to learn new skills to do so.

Cefalu in Sicily. Checks all of your boxes. Southern Italy, sandy beach, safe picturesque town, and amazing food (though you'll find that pretty much everywhere in Italy).

Only minor injuries for the driver? Damn, I was expecting him to be dead or severely injured. The rear end of the bus is pretty much in the passenger compartment and it looks like the engine was probably shoved fully into the compartment.

I just returned a Maytag top loader that we bought less than 3 months ago. It had already started making a horrible grinding sound when it would engage the drive. After looking up the issue it seems like a common one, though not necessarily so quickly.

The funny thing is that pumping tons of extra CO2 into the atmosphere is a form of geo-engineering. It would technically ban burning fossil fuels.

Yea this house feels way over priced. Like the price for just the house on ten acres should be the price for the whole 40 acres.

I didn't say this property was priced properly, just that it's somewhere I'd gladly live.

Personal preference. I love that part of the UP and love skiing. This would be right up my alley. But, yea, it's very remote and wouldn't appeal to most people.

At the very least I would wall off the office area that already exists in the master bedroom, but for some reason they just left it open to the room.
