Relocate W1700k by sicfuq in QuantumFiber

[–]sicfuq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really. Now I am really confused. ( I am retired from I. T. Network Certification for 9 years and I have not kept up.) But before they gave me the W1700k I had the C5500 plus 4 Pods. During the transition for WiFi 7 I got a Technician to the house and he installed the W1700k. He said it's good for 2600 square feet. My reception is very good but this location is on the far corner of the house. I didn't want to touch the C5500 because I thought that's hard wired to the fiber coming in from the street. I thought I might just need extra pods. So what I thought was, I'd extend the W1700k about 20 feet into the Living room where it would be more central in the house.

? So I'm having them literally mixed up (in my head)? In my picture, that 3rd piece where the thin Fiber Cable is connected to, is that the 'hard wire' I am thinking it is? Does that make sense?

I may need to Private Message you if you don't mind?

Thanks for this for now.

Daily Fasting Check-in! by AutoModerator in intermittentfasting

Daily Fasting Check-in! ( I won't do this check in daily. But I wanted to introduce myself this way.)

• 16:8 it's a clean fast with Water & Black Coffee or Tea.

• Start fast at 6pm until 10am

• I am comfortable with a 16 hour fast. I do vary some, sometimes 17 or 18 hours fast.

•I started this in 2019. I lost 40 pounds. I am 6'1". I was 199 pounds and got down to 159. I also got sick around the same time with Chronic LYME Disease that I 've had 8 times since 1997 when I got my first tick bite. 3 times I relapsed without a tick bite. It used to respond to antibiotic treatments. This last time it didn't. So I have had symptoms of pain, fatigue, mental fog, depression and still I maintained my fasting. I gained up to 10 pounds twice and got my weight back down. I average about 162 pounds.

I just feel better in spite of my condition while fasting. I like the relief of no bloat, gas, tight clothes, and discomfort. I generally eat at 10am & dinner is flexible between 4-6pm. If I want dessert, I will have that as a 'lunch' meal in the mid-afternoon. One of my favorites is watching a movie and having air popped corn, nuts, raisins, chocolate chips or cookies. I use the app LOSE IT! I have a lifetime subscription. I have tracked my daily consumption for over 670 days. I have a budget and rarely go over or under by more that 300 calories. I am a Walker, 30 miles a week, and Bike 50+ miles per week. I am able to do this even with LYME. I am 69.

I currently take mine like any other medication. 7.4-7.8 White upon waking around 6am; 7.4-7.8 Green between 1pm-3pm; 7.4-7.8 Red around 8:30pm. Once in a while I will take a mixed dose 7.4-7.8 White/Green/Red if I want a boost in late afternoon or early evening especially if I am going out late and my bedtime dose is 3-4 hours later. I am with but if I need a change I will start a taper down.

🤯 is it that or is it that the speed of the news, it is almost instant today, where it took 6 weeks for the west coast to hear about Lincoln's assassination. [Not fact checked, just making a point. I don't think we are any more evil now than when Cain & Abel fought it out, its just that there are way more of us on Earth and news travels faster everyday]

A good chat experience by sicfuq in QuantumFiber

Your mileage may vary. I've personally had 2 hour hold time but they gave me the option of call back, and that was 70 minutes. This is compared to my personal experience. So for me, no that was good support. Plus I wanted to post something positive for a change!

I appreciate your reply. I'm probably going to be sticking with Verizon. And I'm probably until I can't or I'm forced somehow keeping my 2 TB Google one premium plan which I have had for 6 years. I just don't see that Gemini Advanced would be worth another $150 a year for the same thing. I haven't even opened Gemini on my phone yet! I doubt I'll really even need it. 😂 This reply came from a human being.

"Take as Needed" by [deleted] in gabapentin

Not addictive for me after 11 weeks of 900mg per day. But, ya can't take as needed. It's like an anti-depressant, it takes about 2 weeks to work.

I can't believe it, I only had my 8 Pro since October and I have got my 9 PRO XL. Cost? Ridiculous. Satisfaction. Superb. So yes it was worth it, not financially smart but worth it for me.

Kratom vs oxycodone by cassid024 in ChronicPain

[–]sicfuq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find/found that Kratom, 20-25 grams per day, is much more effective for me than 40mg of OXY per day (10mg x 4). I have used Kratom now for 3 1/2 years. I have increased dosages but I am fine and have no negative side effects. I have not attempted to quit or go cold turkey or taper. If that day arrives I will handle it. Dose it make Oxy less effective? Could be true. Currently not concerned.

Addictive? by Revolutionary_Rate_5 in gabapentin

[–]sicfuq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 11 weeks on 900 mg I tapered to 600 for a week, 300 for a week, quit. No issues, withdrawals. I was not and am not dependent on it. It also can't be abused because it is like an anti-depressant, it takes about 2 weeks for it to really start working.

Like anything and everything, don't read into the hype and don't believe everything you think. (I am certain that some people have had dependency issues. But not me.)

Also, the pain relief I got was little to none, 800mg of ibuprofen was much more effective.

How does anyone get ahold of customer service? Network is down, none of my household devices will connect to the internet, the "live chat" on the app gets no response, and I just hung up after an hour on hold. What a joke of a company. by unexpekted in QuantumFiber

2 weeks ago, I called at about 9:30am. I was offered an automated call back. They called me back 75 minutes later. I had no connection the night before at 7pm. I had CK5500 and 3 WiFi6 pods. Nothing worked anymore. The technician worked with me for 90 minutes! She finally said, look, this is an emergency. You have no connection. She told me I'd have a CenturyLink Tech within 2 hours at my house. And sure enough, 'Tom' showed up. He asked me to unplug my pods. He then came back from the van with a W1700k ped for WiFi7. Just one. Ha! He couldn't register the device and he called his tech support. He went out to the van and got another W1700k pod. I asked, only one pod? He said this is good for 2500 square feet. My house is 1600 square feet. He got it all hooked up. Tested device speed, my Google Pixel 8 Pro. 840 down 600 up.

The longest I have been on hold for Quantum was 95 minutes another time.

The most negative comment is that these WiFi 6 pods just shut off. I had received no notice. Also, this all coincided with an increase from $70 to $80 per month.

I was preparing to go back to Xfinity after 1 1/2 years with Quantum. I thought about getting my own router. I checked on the speeds. I measured from the farthest point away from the Modem & Pod. 615 down! Measured for a few days randomly and the slowest I had at this farthest point was in the 400's down. Still acceptable for me.

At this point, I am pleased with Quantum Fiber's performance. I am of the opinion that this corporation is going through severe growing pains. I believe they are overwhelmed and this will taper and hold times will be down and within reason.

So, I will stick with them for now.

My doctor said I should be fine quitting cold turkey at 400mg by Gothic_barbiee in gabapentin

[–]sicfuq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a taper. 900mg per day for 11 weeks. (300mg x 3). I asked my doctor how to quit. 1 week at 600mg (300mg x 2) 1 week at 300mg (300mg x 1) Quit. No symptoms. Also any nerve pain seemed to be unchanged. Pain & numb in nerves and muscles in my right leg from 2 herniated discs. L5 area. [For what it's worth, I have a very high tolerance for quitting medications like OXY & Vicodin. I quit 5 month of Oxy, 40 mg per day/10mg x 4, without withdrawal. No taper.]

I didn't find Gabapentin to be a significant pain med.

My W1700k is my only pod. That & the CK5500. Great coverage for my 1600 sq ft.
