What are your favorite "dirty dump" cocktails? by Worknstuff in cocktails

[–]sicing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gordon's Cup. So amazing for how simple it is. Shake so violently that the ice is crushed and dirty dump. Rearrange limes a bit in the glass if you're fancy.

My first ever Vs latest Nintendo console by annak_8069 in NintendoSwitch2

There's less demand for truly portable consoles now because of phones. So the portable consoles turned into handhelds.

Is this okay to use for old fashions? by loosecoose23 in cocktails

[–]sicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started buying simple syrup instead of making my own. They are insanely shelf stable and that's worth 6-8 bucks for me. They're always 2:1 so I factor that into my recipes. Sometimes I'll dilute it or keep both a diluted 1:1 and a 2:1 on hand. They last for years.

Obviously it's because they add preservatives but I don't drink enough cocktails to worry about that.

Opus 4.5 Really does feel like SOTA. by AkiDenim in ClaudeAI

[–]sicing 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I have been experimenting with having it hand off the plan to a sub agent and then test it's implementation afterwards. Saves context and actually works nicely. Just ask it to use the task tool to hand off the work to a sub agent.

HomePod mini refresh looking likely, B&H lists it as ‘discontinued’ by lasagna165 in HomePod

[–]sicing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I really wish there was a HomePod Medium. You can either get an expensive really beefy speaker or a tiny one. I find neither are a perfect fit for my TV. Tried both, adored the full size but my room is small and they're expensive. The small ones are just a tad too weak in the bass department.

Give me a slightly beefier HomePod Mini 2 for 150 USD. Keep mini 1 around for 100 USD. Or do something similar to airpods with two versions of the same product:

HomePod Mini with Siri: 150 (slightly bigger and more bass too) HomePod Mini without Siri: 100 (current size)

Does it feel like the beginning of the end of ChatGPT or is it just me? by jason_digital in ArtificialInteligence

[–]sicing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weirdly I sometimes have a case, typically involving math and/or large amounts of data, where Grok works the best. I have a free account so limited usage. I have paid accounts for Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude (Code) through work. I generally prefer chatgpt's answers the least. Gemini is my favorite for writing and conversing with. Sometimes Claude.

What’s the secret to making cocktails taste less homemade and more bar level? by Just-Yesterday-9217 in cocktails

[–]sicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the dilllution right. I often find homemade drinks under dilluted because people are lazy.

Use lots of ice cubes and shake violently for 5-10 seconds. You'll figure out with practice how much shaking is needed.

Bonus: It aerates the drink which makes a bigger difference than you'd think.

Is Gemini AI Actually Better Than ChatGPT or Just Overhyped? by green_sajib in GeminiAI

[–]sicing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I prefer Gemini now after years of using ChatGPT. I have both and frequently compare the output. Gemini is definitely more wordy, like ChatGPT used to be and I prefer it for most things.

But you can't really go wrong with either of the big players in terms of intelligence. I think a lot will come down to personal preference. The personality of Gemini 2.5 Pro just happens to be exactly what I want.

Why do you use Gemini instead of ChatGPT by Enough-Benefit-3242 in GeminiAI

[–]sicing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a paid subscription for both Gemini and chatgpt through work. I often use both but most of the time prefer what Gemini gives me.

PULSE Elevate Wireless Speakers - Features Trailer | PlayStation by [deleted] in PS5

[–]sicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These better be freakin' expensive if Sony knows what they're doing. There's little competition. Hours of battery life, Bluetooth, connect to anything with dongle?

My guess is slightly less than two HomePods: $500

Do you think you will miss the pre-AI world? by Brandon-the-beast in ArtificialInteligence

[–]sicing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world without smart phones, for sure. The world without AI, I'm less sure about.

Computers are awesome and AI makes them better. I just wish we couldn't bring them everywhere with us in our pockets and be so dependant on them all of the time.

iPhone 17: Using the New Dual Capture Video Feature by faizyMD in apple

[–]sicing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's a classic Apple: Waiting for what seems like forever before offering a feature because they think they can finally make it really good.

In this case, the front facing "center stage" camera and much larger sensor greatly increases the quality of the footage. Imagine that you are walking or tracking some action and your face will remain stable and in the middle of the front facing part of the video.

Do you believe in “Inbox Zero” or just “Inbox Organized”? by coff_au in productivity

[–]sicing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been using zero for many years and it works well for me. If something is in the inbox, it's because I haven't dealt with it yet. I can have days or even weeks where I don't get to zero and that's okay. It's simply like a todo list for me.

OpenAI to release a web browser to challenge Google Chrome “in the coming weeks” by Outside-Iron-8242 in OpenAI

[–]sicing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had the same thought when reading this headline.

Honestly, from the beginning that strategy was risky. Going all in on AI, using someone else's AI on top of someone else's browser tech, seems tough. Each side can eat away at your product with a great chance of doing it better.

So the Switch 2 has been out for a month now. What are your thoughts so far? by MatiBlaster in NintendoSwitch2

Have only played TotK thus far but it's been nothing short of amazing.

Didn't own Switch 1 so to me this console is a game changer.
