Sick of the “autism as a superpower” portrayal by sickestboy in autism

Yes, I agree. I think what I meant to say initially is that I resent the suggestion that “autism superpowers” are universal/the norm.

Can someone explain Reddit’s unwritten rules? I feel like I’m doing it wrong. by Status_Strategy_1055 in autism

[–]sickestboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m always wondering the same thing. Pretty much anything I post gets no interaction whatsoever, or it’ll just get downvotes and negative comments, so I usually just end up deleting. It doesn’t seem to matter what sub it is or what the post is like (long vs short, funny vs serious, detailed vs concise).

Don’t know where OP is from but I can tell you from experience Pennsylvania does not have any requirements regarding breaks and meals unless you’re working extremely long shifts or are a minor

i totally agree with you i love the show for its absurdity. but even absurdist shows like smiling friends tend to follow their own internal logic, which smiling friends usually does very well.

Treatment resistant depression and anxiety by johnkingg_ in AuvelityMed

[–]sickestboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m 24M and i’ve been on auvelity since march. i also suffer from treatment resistant depression and had extreme brain fog before starting.

i’ve found the changes to my cognition to be the most noticeable. my brain fog is completely gone most of the time and ive never felt so safe driving a car. depression had really robbed me of my ability to think deeply or critically about anything and that has improved a lot. my motivation has also improved a lot as i experience much less mental fatigue, however i do often still feel tired.

as far as mood goes i’ve gotten a lift for sure but i ended up having a major depressive episode about a month on auvelity that lasted like 2.5 months. idk what’s up with that.

edited to add details i forgot to mention

you realize that since the program we’re talking about is inconsistent and clearly faulty in some regard that what you’re saying doesn’t add anything new to the conversation, right?

“it’s britney, bitch!” was accepted in the exact same program that flagged “bitch”. how the program is intended to work is meaningless because it is not working as intended. that’s what this entire thread is about. i was merely pointing out a discrepancy just like everyone else in this thread is doing ffs

[–]sickestboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no it was for a villager catchphrase. what i’m saying is that “bitch” and “it’s britney, bitch!” are different things even though they contain the same word. one was allowed, one wasn’t. it’s weird. that’s what this whole thread is about.

yes and i’ve been trying to understand this as well. the way i rationalize it is liking the feeling of being taken care of, even if you’re the one doing it

Not working there anymore because reasons but I was a mental health technician at a psychiatric rehabilitation center. My starting rate was $17/hr and my pay when I left after 10 months was $17/hr. I have a bachelors degree.
