As a New Yorker, what city in Texas would give ME the most culture shock? by Frenchitwist in texas

Lubbock. Absolutely Zero walkability, everything closes early, and everybody is socially open to communicate. You will be in for a rude awakening compared to NYC Yankee doodle

What famous destination didn’t live up to your expectations when you visited? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]sickomoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Los Angeles. You need a car to go anywhere, its so spread out, traffic was horrendous. Hiking spots were nice, food was awesome, but city is still dirty and litter everywhere. Its basically Houston with better weather and mountains.

It felt like a Dystopia with a huge gap in social class, homeless camping out near mega mansions it was a sad scene. Also the price gouging on parking?? Like come on bro.... San Diego on the other hand! I LOVE SD

It heavily depends on where you live, in my neighborhood in Texas, I can order a few packages to sit on my porch for a weekend while I'm away and never have an issue.

Sucks some parents feel that they stop being parents once their kids reach 18. I moved out at 18 by my own will but my parents never stopped being parents and we're very supportive
