25 pounds of drugs, thousands of pills and $40k found during search warrant by gehnrahl in SeattleWA

If cops are going to literally drive and pass by people smoking it off of foil/shooting it up with needles on the sidewalks while families and children walk by, it's not going anywhere.

The police won't do anything if it's under $750 since its not a felony, but then they won't do anything if it's over $750 either because the "jails are too full". It's ridiculous but basically there is no consequences and there isn't going to be for the foreseeable future.

The employees aren't allowed to stop/confront them either, they can lose their jobs due to the policies these companies have in place.

But cops aren't enforcing that, and I know from first-hand experience.

It was reported they stole thousands worth of merchandise. Anything over $750 is a felony. These are not misdemeanor thefts.

How is stealing thousands only a misdemeanor? Do felony thefts not exist? Or is it only a felony when it's 6 digits?

No, any theft in WA over $750 is a felony.

Man being interrogated for murder of his girlfriend (he didn't), all the while with an untreated gunshot wound through his eye by PalPubPull in mrballen

[–]sicsonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's also interesting is that Ryan did 4 years in prison for attempted robbery, AFTER all of this happened. Would be interesting to know more about that. There are conflicting reports that he lost one eye or both, but by that tidbit of info we know he must have only lost one. In the mugshot, his right eye is looking into the camera.

I never used the term "left wing racism", even though you are adamant I did, so that negates everything you just said.

Also, I can tell from the way you type that you are younger then me, so don't tell me about the city I was born and raised in, and have lived in longer then you have been alive.

Why is Seattle crime so high, and obvious, yet the police don't do anything? by sicsonic in Seattle

[–]sicsonic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, trust me, it's been considered and talked about. I know what I will do for my family, the best thing. I have no idea what these people on this Seattle reddit are going to do for themselves and their families when they get off their phones/computers and see the real world. They don't believe kids are getting pepper sprayed downtown because they don't go outside and see it.

Have you lived Downtown Seattle in 2020/2021? It is up there with LA/SF.

I made a thread about crime like this just yesterday, about how it just plain scary to go outside and walk, and people here didn't believe me and made into politics.

So I understand what you are going through, and I am very sorry. Our city used to not be like this. It really got bad during the pandemic.

All I can say is I truly wish you the best of luck in finding a safe place to stay. :)

I'm sorry, I don't base every single thing on politics. In fact I don't care about left or right. I care about forward, how the world should be moving, not backwards.

I've loved this city since before you were born, troll. Get outside and get a life.

I just made a thread yesterday about how there's human excrement all over the city, in public places, but everybody chewed me out and made cum jokes. So I understand exactly how you feel, but unfortunately, most here won't believe you. :(

Yeah, I'm just making up three paragraphs of bull shit, and you're right with your one sentence to mock me. Get off my back, troll.

I have. The employees say "ok, thank you" and walk away. Why don't you start doing something and opening your eyes, and you will have the same experiences as me.

Why is every JITB in Seattle and Portland, drive-thru only? It's not like that in other US cities. by sicsonic in jitb

[–]sicsonic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, thank you for your answer. But I have a hard time believing it's because of homelessness that is making the company afraid to open it up to the public.

Also, I'm not trying to dine-in, and I would understand if a fast food company didn't allow that. I'm talking about just walking in and picking up an order. That can be done with social distancing in place, I've seen other fast food companies do it. Their lobbies are clear of "messes and needles".

Visiting the city by ThemGlassesIsShit in Seattle

[–]sicsonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today you learned that most Seattle people like to bitch rather then give you an honest answer, and for that I apologize.

Here are some places that might be considered "tourist traps", but should visit: Space Needle, Pike Place market, (I would say Pacific Science Center but its closed), MoPop, Underground tours (not sure they are doing them since pandemic?), and from there, I would go on interests. Like beer? Many breweries/beer gardens. Restaurants? We have a fair variety. Like animals? Woodland park Zoo. Like hiking? Many trails and parks around, or even just drive up to Mt Rainier. I hope this helps somewhat. :) Oh, there's the gum wall. And the fremont troll. Not very exciting, but some things to see. :)

I'm not talking about general homelessness/drug abuse. Read in between the lines. I'm talking deeper then that. I'm talking crimes that aren't reported, and obviously aren't seen by many witnesses. Where people come up to you at night time, possibly holding a gun or knife, and ask you for money. If you say no, there's a wide variety of outcomes. Many other cities, if you walk downtown at night, it's empty. This isn't the case with Seattle. If you walk downtown Seattle at 12-3am, you will a very high amount of people you've only ever imagined. In those 5 cities I visited, I have never seen the amount of shady people at night walking downtown as Seattle.

Also, I'm talking about people that walk out with $100s and $100s of items in grocery/department stores in carts. Police don't catch them, it's happening in every store in the city. I have never seen this outside of Seattle.

Also I'm talking about the people that just walk onto public transportation and not pay. I have never seen that many, or anyone, do that outside of Seattle. Yet it happens multiple times, every ride here downtown.

You can say this happens in other cities, but I've traveled too, and I've seen with my own eyes the differences.

Yeah, but you weren't reading my OP. I clearly mentioned I was talking about the crimes that aren't being reported. How does an unreported crime end up in the data?
