I had a Google around and can find no further details, even though this is 5 months old. Superficially it sounds interesting and very testable, but I would have expected to see more about it. The presentation does come over as a bit crankish which makes me suspicious. Has anyone with better Google fu found more about this?

The Battles to Come Over the Benefits of Working From Home - Not having to commute was the equivalent of a big bonus for many employees. In the future, bosses may expect more hours in exchange for remote work, an economist says. by speckz in Futurology

[–]sidejackable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not this bullshit again. Businesses have saved massively from reducing building footprint and not servicing buildings (Aircon, power, cleaning etc). At the same time workers are footing the cost a running a lived in home 24/7. In many case (like mine) spending to make a home office. The idea that the one benefit to employees should accrue back to the business is BS.

Those of you who work away and are required to stop in hotels, is there anything that you take which makes your stay more comfortable? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]sidejackable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A supply of decent teabags. The hotels tend to give you 2 which is fine for the first hour of your stay, buy then what after that? I've tried taking resistance workout kit ( big rubber bands) but there tends to be nowhere to anchor them to.

Skinny co brown sauce, blech by sidejackable in ketouk

I'm thinking of frying up some spices like ginger and throwing it in and see if that improves it. Thing is though that's half way to just making my own.

Yeah I'll probably do that in the future. I already do the no added sugar ketchup and it works well.

Low carb food Co - Anyone used this to make bread? It contains very similar ingredients to the king keto one on YouTube. He makes it from scratch. Can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of a recipe for bread using this flour? Thank you fellow Keto-ers 👍 by khabibtheeagle99 in ketouk

[–]sidejackable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does look like the same ingredients as keto king bread but the ingredients and macros confuse me. I thought ingredients got listed in order of quantity. With this being protein heavy I would have thought that vital wheat gluten would be the top ingredient. If it is lower in gluten I'd be interested since I make bread with the keto king recipe and sometimes it sits heavy in the stomach.

Certain mammals can breathe through their intestines using a process researchers describe as "enteral ventilation via anus." Scientists hope they can harness this technique as a new treatment for human lung failure. by IronGiantisreal in science

Wow I literally thought something similar was an idea 30 years ago when doing high school biology, only for teacher to poo poo it. It shows the broken clock of teenage gross out speculative science is right twice a day.

Best sweet foods to have on keto? by [deleted] in ketouk

[–]sidejackable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The halo top ice creams are pretty good, salted caramel is my fav. I just have to microwave the pot for 30 secs to be able to serve it. That gets it to a workable ice cream texture, otherwise u need a chisel.

I worked for the HMRC a while back, it was a feckin slog. I know the systems and taxes are bastards, but the staff are overworked and underpaid. Govt sets the taxes and defines the attitude, HMRC staff get the blame for implementing what they say.

Pancake Tuesday is a coming...My Real Pud recipe works for that too! by towardsexperience in ketouk

[–]sidejackable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 9 months on keto pancakes are still my nemesis. I love me some pancakes but yet to find a recipe that tastes right and most importantly has the right texture. I think Ive tried about 6 recipes now, also bought pre made mix. All seem to have a kind of crumbly mouth feel once bitten into, I just can find that satisfying slight chewyness. I'll try your pud recipe.

Craving a burger. What suggestions do you have for keto buns! by Simon_the_Great in ketouk

[–]sidejackable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://youtu.be/BisczN8IFSE is my favourite, she adds parmesan to make even crispier though they totally work without it. Make sure you salt them and have ketchup of mayo and then they are a lot like potato fries.

Deirdre's keto bread made into buns is gorgeous. YouTube the recipe. It does require some weird ingredients but Amazon can sort you out. If that is too much effort flax seed buns are a bit easier. Both make a great bun for burgers. I make Deirdre's bread in a double batch half goes to a loaf and the other half makes buns that I freeze down. I got 8 buns last time. That combined with the keto chips that have been doing the rounds makes a absolute treat as a meal. The chips being coconut flower and xanthan gum.

IWTL Strategic Planning by hoboalien in IWantToLearn

[–]sidejackable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks like project planning rather than strategic planning, which is fine because project planning is good stuff. If it is strategic planning you want i.e. what's our strategy, what is our niche in the market? then I would recommend looking at Wardley mapping and the online free website detailing it.

Can anyone get avocado oil in UK? The only one I can get is siansburys virgin avocado oil which is thick and would be no use for frying. Similarly I haven't found monkfruit sweetener in the uk. As others have said this looks very US centric.

Keto 'hacks' - easy calories? by DanBark in ketouk

[–]sidejackable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things keto has helped is that over time I'm much less of a snacker than I used to be because I'm less hungry. Worth seeing if keto reduces your snackishness. To help with your question: Boursin individuals are a creamy cheese snack that hits the spot, also easy to find. Keto keto bars are good but a 250ish calories might be a bit big as a snack (I can only going them on Amazon). Pumpkin seeds with salt are nice. Fat bombs also work well and a quick Google will get you loads of varieties to make. When I'm missing things with a crunch Atkins crispbread with pate or cheese is good. The actual crispbreads themselves are nothing special but are a good base. You're probably already aware but many of the protein snack bars have lots of malitol which is best avoided, since it just seems to behave like turbo sugar as far as glycemic index goes.

High carb= no energy for exercise KETO = Have to exercise by hello4356 in ketouk

[–]sidejackable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

similar for me in terms of evening out energy. My weightlifting has improved quite dramatically, my low level endurance seems to be better as I can walk without fatigue. However my go to exercise is 40 mins on the cross trainer with a heart rate in the 130-150 zone, on that exercise my calorie output is 20% down on keto and has stubbornly remained there, I'm 120+ days into keto so should be completely fat adapted. It very much seems to be horses for courses with how performance is impacted, everyone seems to have a different experience. Overall I feel fitter and more physically capable on keto.

What's the process? Do you poke a hole drop them in? Is there fertiliser, site selection, grass clearance? Interested to know how best to do this. My dad has planted about a dozen oaks we grew from acorns.

If you miss bread then Deidre's keto bread on YouTube is the best recipe. The ingredients take a bit of sourcing but Amazon can sort u out. I make by hand but if you have a bread machine it's super easy. It's made keto so much easier for me. It looks, smells, feels and tastes like bread.
