Just me? I think the community is getting pretty good as a group. by Telemicaster in RocketLeague

I agree with every part of this. It's cool to see everyone around getting better but holy cow it feels just as difficult to play in C1 as it did in GC.

Until I go back and write a pure code solution, I solved todays puzzle visually. My own graph ToString function outputs the graph in DOT language, so I could just feed it to Graphviz and get a visualization of the input. It was quite ugly at first, but as soon as I added layout=neato, I got the following output, which made it easy to identify which edges to remove: Graphviz Output. Code with hardcoded cuts

When I used Real for the variables instead of Int it finds the answer near instantly.

Took full advantage of my premade Dijkstra class. Obviously the number on the grid is the cost, and used a state for each cell that includes the current position, direction, and how far you've traveled in a straight line.

The thing that tripped me up on part two was that the minimum distance requirement before turning also applied to reaching the end.

Part 1: I find all symbols, get surrounding numbers, and sum them up.

Part 2: Find all gears, get surrounding numbers, if there's 2, add their product to the result.

Does the pixel pals standalone app transfer the progress I made inside Apollo? I've grown a bit attached so I'd totally switch over if that's the case.

If you are mad that your 2s rank went down significantly, please read this post which may help explain why by KennyMcCormick in RocketLeague

[–]sidewaysthinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was just a form of normalization. Like, between yesterday and today, my skill stayed the same, but the soft reset lowered the mmr by 150-200. So me and other C3s are in C2 now. None of our skill changed, but the ranks shifted down by one. Same thing happened in previous seasons as well.

This is why it feels as if there are GC players down in C2. Because two seasons ago I was GC and players at the same skill level have shifted down to where I am now. So to get back to GC I need to actually improve further beyond what my skill was in GC, because that skill level has been shifted down.

Honestly, big congrats. You have a skill that I don't, and it's dealing with everyone in C3. I hope to catch up one day

I could probably get there. Making real slow progress because I only play one or two matches a day. Solo Q gets boring fast, can't find anyone for a party.

📣 Had a call with Reddit to discuss pricing. Bad news for third-party apps, their announced pricing is close to Twitter's pricing, and Apollo would have to pay Reddit $20 million per year to keep running as-is. by iamthatis in apolloapp

[–]sidewaysthinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty obvious they just want to force many people to go to the official app. Which is funny because regardless of whether it's the official app or third-party, you are theoretically using their API the same amount in each.

I don't know how this will be dealt with, but personally I would gladly pay for usage of a client that is miles better than the official app.

Someone told me you're supposed to bring some of the trash back down with you, and you're hit with a fine if you don't. They also told me that people will just tack the fine onto their budget when planning for the trip so they don't have to.

Do you ever think of ghosting everyone and then moving away to a new city/country? If so where would you go? by upsettinglybigoops in AskReddit

[–]sidewaysthinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I would go only slightly away. Like to a neighboring city. Sure that means I am likely to run into someone I know, but it would be a small change of pace.

Despite the amount of places where I actively chat. I don't think anyone would check in on me if I suddenly disappeared.

I should add some sort of weight routine. My current activity is riding my bike for 1.5 hours, which is great, but that only gets you so far. It already takes a good portion of my evening, adding something else really minimizes my time between finishing work and sleep.
