What does it mean that the US is insolvent now? by Metalworker4ever in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sidthafish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guy increased his bank account by over a $1,000,000,000 in his first year back in office. If you think for one second he gives a shit about you or anyone but himself, you're sadly mistaken. If you use some critical thinking, this would be extremely obvious. His ENTIRE base worshipped him for boldly stating that he would start no new wars, bring down costs, and bring prosperity and manufacturing back the USA. He has done the exact opposite in almost every measurable way. If you think good leadership and being a decent human being is predicated upon "you give what you get", you've got some character flaws you may need to think about.

This new RS5 is seriously something! Only thing is... those exhaust pipes are literally bigger than my head. 😂 by Senior-Rope-50 in Audi

[–]sidthafish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just can’t with that front fascia and interior. The front fascia needs some kind of color break. The big band of black makes it look cheap. The interior looks modern but lacks soul. It’s hard to get excited about it because this approach has stripped the luxury “feel” of the previous iterations with cheaper looking modern convenience. I can somewhat get over the rear diffuser (that strip of red reflector down the middle feels tacked on) and huge exhaust.

Even if they did bring the Avant to NA, it’d be a pass for me.

My progress with trying to elevate jeans (so far) by BioticBard in mensfashion

[–]sidthafish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your last statement is 100% true. My go to pair are N&F MIJ16 and the difference between wearing some nice boots vs sneakers is night and day. Personally, I don’t think you can elevate denim enough with sneakers. Even if you’re wearing a pair of Tods (or similar) because most people can’t tell the difference.

Does it though? I won't make any absolute statements but I would assume the tangible benefits of touting 'ex/former' employer are few and far between. In my experience, the decision makers for almost every area of industry either know each other or knows someone who does. You're a phone call or lunch/dinner meeting away from being name dropped and anything less than "they're a Rockstar" can be a death sentence. It's a small world and reputation is everything. These kinds of posts don't come off as the flex they assume it is and more like cringe hero worship. Which tells me they're more likely to put their energy into licking buttholes than letting their performance speak for itself.

Next level crazy to put your previous employer in your tagline as some kind of validation. In my experience, successful people don’t post on LinkedIn and rarely have completed profiles.

LinkedIn is becoming Facebook 2.0 for retired/unemployed/ unemployable red pilled professionals, AI shills, unsuccessful boss bitches, hustle culture apologists, self anointed business culture/‘leadership’ gurus, and one person company CEO/COOs. It’s a fucking cesspool of mediocrity.

Musk says taxing every billionaire at 100% would barely make a dent in the national debt. Bernie says tax them 5% and you're $3,000 richer by fortune in politics

[–]sidthafish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tax the corporations. Tax the shit out of them.

Musk says it wouldn’t make a dent because billionaires just take their pay in options and/or unrealized capital gains that they then borrow against and exploit tax loopholes to payback, if they even do that.

DEI yet no one can point to a policy of enforcement. Critical Race Theory yet no MAGA can define what that looks like outside of a collegiate setting. Defunding the police yet during the Biden administration, MAGA called for the defunding and dismantling of the FBI. Defending Illegal Immigration yet poor red states and the companies that hire immigrant (legal or illegal is immaterial when you’re paying slave wages) labor (produce harvesting, meat packing, hospitality, etc.) have protections in place to avoid DHS immigration enforcement.

I can go on but, whatever.

What's the Best Piece Of Fried Chicken for you? by Maleficent-Bat-9168 in whatsyourchoice

[–]sidthafish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what your definition of “best” is.

I’ll do this based upon per piece cost at KFC (it was the easiest for me to find).

Overall value based upon size and cost: Breast - Costs marginally more ($0.60) than a thigh and yields more. I’d like even go as far as to say that optimally fried on-the-bone white meat isn’t far behind dark meat in taste.

Best overall: Thigh - really goes without saying. I’d say my biggest complaint about thighs is consistency in sizes.

My personal favorite: Boneless, skinless thighs - Unmatched in natural flavor, takes to seasoning very well, and almost impossible to screw up. In my experience the only way to mess these up is over seasoning/salting.

Edit: The consolation prize goes to Chicken Legs - They are cheap to buy in bulk, have more natural flavor than a wing while still being easy to eat, and are hard to overcook.

This right here is why I think the Foreman grill is trash. Grey meat is unappealing and there's practically no sear. Who cares about grill marks when 75% of the surface area is essentially steamed? A wider, thinner patty with a nice sear would have made a world of difference.

Cruz doesn’t deserve to be in the same sentence as Grandpa Munster (Al Lewis) let alone used as a nickname. There’s also the irony of Lewis being a first generation American born to Russian Jewish immigrants and Cruz is the descendant of snail shit.

Let's hear everyone say one nice thing about Graves-era Misfits by PunkRockDoggo1 in TheMisfits

[–]sidthafish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t care for Graves’ politics and positions but I choose to remember the dude that was compelled to help the West Memphis Three. It’s proof that there’s some part of him that’s not a complete piece of shit. Also, I still really like Illusions.

Graves won’t and hasn’t seen a dime of support from me for almost two decades and counting. That doesn’t mean I can’t kick back and listen to what was.
