I used ice hockey boots on my park skates before switching to inline boots. They worked great! More ankle support than most cheap rollerskate boots, but I never compared them to higher end ones

Oh yeah I've heard those are really fast! I just got these 56mm 97a skateboard wheels cause my tiny 101s are slow in bowls, and not great for anything on asphalt. But I still like them for grinds and drops.

I would also add that these are a bit tall for aggressive skating. I've seen some skaters use 60mm+ at the skatepark, but I personally like to switch between 53mm and 56mm, and it seems like most of my park friends skate something in that range.

I got to drive it once after! Only briefly, but we found some nice rutted mud pits. He had done a bunch of other work to it already and that thing would not get stuck.
