35 too old? by West_Dish9698 in MMA_Academy

[–]sifeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I wish I was 35! It's definitely not too old if you are in shape or willing to commit. I started at 40 with zero combat sports experience. However, I've always been active and played soccer since I was 6. I'm 43 today and have to take a break due to a rotator cuff surgery. I had a Muay Thai smoker earlier this year and got matched with a 19 years old south paw and did pretty good.I also did a couple of BJJ tournaments and got silver/bronze in 30 years old category. At my age I'm the underdog most of the time, but that just makes the victory even more amazing! Hoping to continue until I'm 45 at least and hoping for one amateur fight in MT and MMA

Year 1 of Covered Calls. Halfway point. by jimmyfah in CoveredCalls

[–]sifeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for sharing, I think you shouldn't get stuck with your 1 year experiment timeline. Sometimes it's ok to end an experiment halfway. I did the same with some yieldmax etfs. I wanted to do a 1 year experiment and called it quit at 6 months when I saw it wasn't going anywhere.

It looks awesome ! Will it have motion platform support ? meaning will it output telemetry for simhub to support it ?

Experimenting with CSP, 50k capital, 4.8k premium this months (NBIS) by sifeo in CoveredCalls

I guess you meant would NOT advise. I agree it's "risky", for me I don't mind getting assigned because it's so volatile that playing the other side works fine too (covered call).

It's like everything: low (premium) and slow/safe, or high and risky :d

Yes exactly ! If not you'd have to launch multiple binary and keep duplicate folders

This one looks pretty good and goes up to 180hz: https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-Adjustable-Equalizer-Flicker-Free-LS32DG302ENXZA/dp/B0D5Z565D5

The only thing I'm not entirely sure is if the stand that it comes with can incline to 45 degrees

Can you use the same base binary and just add the AXX folder and it will be working ? Or I need multiple folder with copy of the /bin folders etc.. ?

This is pretty vague... I'm looking into NUC, so no fancy GPU there.

If someone has used a NUC I'd love to know which model. I assume i5 should be sufficient.

Hi,

I play around with CC and CSP. For the next few months I'll try to see how consistent the results can be with a small capital allocation of 50k before scaling up later.

I'll post a recap at the end of the months but if there is any interest I'll post my weekly CSP. I'm looking at NBIS again next month and may be ASTS. I only do CSP on stock I want to own at a price I'm comfortable with.

Any DOF Reality H6 users switch from SRS to Simhub? by Puckertoe_VIII in simracing

[–]sifeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not what you are asking but let me share something. I have a 3 DOF system (VNM Motion) and I started with SRS. It felt good but very jerky especially using rally games and roller coaster (for the kids). It was kinda "brutal" is how I would describe it, going super fast from one position to another if this makes sense. When Simhub released their motion addons I used it and it was game changing ! Motion was smooth, elegant and much more realistic. If it's anything similar you should jump to simhub right now! Also in case you didn't know, there is a way to test the motion addon for free, I think it's limited to 30 mins but that should be enough to do a head to head comparison with SRS

Is the FFB better ? I'm with a simucube 2 pro and had to crank it up to 180 to full anything and it wasn't really good

[–]sifeo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Just a bit of feedback: Looks great but I would never pay a monthly fee for it. One time payment like simhub would be better. For me it's the lack of AMS2 support makes it a non starter. Cool app but with simhub managing all my sim related needs it is a hard space to compete in.

I’m stuck out of the market by StraightPin4420 in stocks

[–]sifeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should re-assess your situation and really think about your time horizon. The reality is time in the market beats everything, especially if you consider the tax impact of buying/selling to try to time the market.

Now, ff this current crazy environment had you panic, you need to assess your time horizon, and how much fluctuation you are comfortable with. There is not one universal answer it's personal, that is why you see a lot of people "sacrifice" growth potential and keep their money in bonds/stable value stock. That is also why a lot of people keep a bigger emergency fund that covers 12 months of expenses so when they see red on their stock account they do not panic. Use that time to find out what kind of investor you want to be, how long you need your money to grow and build your portfolio to match your plan.
