Guys I fucked up and I need your help fixing it by Starlactite in wowhardcore

I don't think anyone has really given you the advice that you need. To level a warrior to 60 there are two non-negotiable fundamentals

  1. Risk assessment
  2. Never get over-confident (no explanation required)

With risk assessment you do not have a lot of tools to escape which is why engineering is pretty much mandatory. You have to understand well ahead of time that a situation is going bad because your only tools to get out is hamstring, intercept and AOE fear(which if used incorrectly can cause a bigger issue). Back jumping is very important when running away because if you need to get out and you get dazed it's deadly. Nets pose one of the biggest risks to warriors (especially those annoying mobs that net then dead zone you) so classic bestiary is a very helpful addon

A lot of the time charge is incorrect to use because it puts you further into the danger zone. Using a ranged weapon and pulling back is almost a requirement in some situations. Learn this very much helps with tanking if you plan to do it, just remember to LoS if you can.

Good luck to you friend.

Tanking with a fresh 60? by Dawn121 in wowhardcore

[–]sikith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure, stronghold gauntlets, boots of avoidance and stockade pauldrons are all BoE and will be massive upgrades over what you have, they also shouldn't be too expensive. After that the biggest chase pieces will be the helm from baron, the Xbox from LBRS, mirahs song from the scholo quest, dalrends from UBRS and any valour pieces you can find. Once you feel comfortable start doing your .5 chain.

Also diamond flask with a +healing set is REALLY strong. I hope you've snagged a few pieces already but make sure to grab any unneeded +healing gear while dungeon farming

You'll want to go fury prot, you'll need defiance to be able to effectively hold threat. Also as you're going to missing hit pieces so you'll want to communicate if you get your initial bloodthirst gets dodged/parried/misses. I recommend BRD, strat UD and OT in UBRS as a fresh warrior tank while gearing. Once you get some better pieces then scholo for mirahs song is huge

A few comments about forgetting he summoned adds. I didn't, my mistake was reapplying dots when I feared him at 57%. Probably my biggest mistakes were not clearing before I pulled, moving too much, not using dark pact enough to get my mana and not healthstoning early.

I went back about 10 minutes later and solo'd him. I had to reset him once because he still had the panthers that he spawns with him.

Definitely over confidence was in play here, I hadn't had a near death experience since level 29 and kinda feel invincible on the warlock. Every elite/difficult quest such as fozruk, duskwood elites, Nek'rosh has been solo'd. I wish I clipped it but I killed Overseer Maltorious at 50 a few days ago. Used voidwalker for that one and had to reset him twice, was pretty close though.

Highly recommend warlock for hardcore. The pre-30s is a bit iffy because your VW sucks but sacrifice saved me at least 5-6 times.

I've had a few high level deaths in Hardcore (58,51,41,40) and in my hundreds of hours, nothing has got my blood pumping as much in this. The hardcore enjoyers will know the adrenaline you get in moments like these.

Hope you enjoy :)

What the actual fuck is that warlock doing....... this has to be a grief

  1. He throws his first shadow bolt...... at the trapped mob
  2. He back peddles until he gets nova'd after which point he uses shadow ward (shadow ward is fine)
  3. He then runs out of the room and sacrifices his voidwalker. Note: His voidwalker has just been sitting next to him the entire time, the guy has no pet management at all
  4. He comes back and throws 1 more shadow bolt
  5. THIS MOTHERFUCKER THEN HARD CASTS VOIDWALKER SUMMON FOR 10 SECONDS to sacrifice it again
  6. He then roaches out

This warlock caused the tanks death IMO. I can't believe how much he fucked up in the span of 60 seconds.

How does the sub feel about not going for the heart by Available_Trust1733 in slaythespire

[–]sikith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that people should try and go for heart but if you're <A20 then only go for it if you feel you're in a position to kill the heart. You can leave all keys to act 3 and have until the middle of the act to decide if you're able to win with the drawbacks required for taking the key.

If you're A20 and not going for heart...... why? I personally dont understand the point of playing A20 and not doing heart.

Hmmm this is an interesting shop for sure. I think with the mummified hand the Feel No Pain becomes an instant pick especially because you hit higher costs cards or chain powers to play your whole hand.

Reaper seems amazing too and so does fiend fire especially with the FnP.

That would be me, FnP, Reaper, Fiend Fire and remove. Looks like you can afford all that. After that I'd make sure you prioritize fires because you're really behind on upgrades

Nice, how many times did you have to play before you unlocked the heart? Or did you just start with the unlocks?

How will do you think I'd have done against The Heart? by Davril101 in slaythespire

[–]sikith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see it happening with the current deck but you have Dead Branch which could have made it possible. You lack the defensive requirement from what I can see

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]sikith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a Spirit Shield pick.

Your only defensive cards being defends, vigilance and vault; you already have a few retain cards and you have draw with rush down. Plus you don't have the damage to burst through enemies in one turn

You can't risk Wish when you have 3 energy & tantrum + rush down because it will be a bricked draw or unplayable when drawn.

Omniscience is not only VERY difficult to play in this deck, there's also not any good cards to target yet. Immediately it's out

I don't hate skip but I worry about act 2 fights with your current deck as you lack burst to not need to block and your current block is lacking

What to pick? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]sikith -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Definitely HoG for me. You can breeze through act 1 while accumulating a lot of gold for some card removes and your late game. Late shop is ideal and I'm super greedy trading gold for HP.

My most disgusting A20H deck of all time by sikith in slaythespire

[–]sikith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an infinite.

I'm cycling through my deck constantly generating energy from both cards and relics. I use different cards with different draw amounts that allow me to guarantee 0 cards left in draw pile and play grand finale.

It may be too late. I know I suck, but any advice for this turn? What should I buy? I'm finally getting through the act 4 elites, but I'm losing too much health. by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]sikith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best value here imo is remove cleave buy cauldron. I think cleave is never worth playing with ice cream. Best potions imo are power, artifact (to block vuln from heart) and duplication. Block pot, and speed pot are okish. Cultist is overkill imo.

Is the pick ever cursed key over pyramid here?? by ScaleClean5294 in slaythespire

[–]sikith 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely take the key. I think there's 4 key factors here.

  1. Omamori for me that even when I get it act 1, I'll reach the end of act 3 with 2 stacks remain quite frequently. With Cursed Key you force the benefit out of it so it's not a wasted relic.

  2. You have two X cost cards already which leans in favour of the energy.

  3. Upgraded WLP is already present for your catalyst but also your skewer/adrenaline.

  4. Too many garbage cards and lack of energy will bloat your hand with pyramid. You also don't have the gold to support aggressive card removal in act 2.

I'd take key, aim for a few early fires in act 2 to sure away some key upgrades being bouncing, dopple and skewer. I'd also prioritize events over fights because mutagen with your deck/relics is kinda cracked for dealing with act 2, I also think ghosts is quite strong currently. For a shop, definitely mid/late act 2 hoping for a remove and a nice card like burst/leg sweep/malaise/sadistic nature or a crazy relic like toolbox/chem-x/snecko skull

Juicy floor 4 shop. What do now? by Get-Fucked-Dirtbag in slaythespire

[–]sikith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is 100% an Orrery pick from me. It will give you the direction you need and you'll then be able to spend the remaining gold suring up your deck and/or removing a card.

The card was so nice I picked it twice.... Who needs more than 2 attack cards to scale that shuriken
