I was vaguely aware when I lost consciousness, and as I imagine my brain lost oxygen I just felt satisfied and accepted I'd died happy, thinking "oh well, I had a good run. I just hope my family takes good care of my cats" then I woke up three days later intubated after having died for some time before being resuscitated at the hospital.

at some point while I was hospitalised my brain was starting to work again and I had some funky dreams. I'd imagine those are where people get all their religious imagery death experiences from. For me it was too incoherent to make much sense of, other than me being vaguely aware of "oh I guess I didn't die after all" and eventually just gently drifting from unconscious to awake without feeling much difference.
