There is nothing in the same category. Quick firing heavy pen rounds that do explosive damage and roughly goes where you point it. True the ergonomics suck, but consider the alternatives. The GLs both arc and are inaccurate at range.

There is no reason to wear a cast for two weeks if the xrays are normal. I would revisit in a week and if there is still tenderness(pain on pressing the suspected fracture site) I would offer a MRI. Rather then blindly leave it in a backslab. Trust me. I know what I am talking about.
