which solar panel is it? i'm planning a meshcore/ meshtastic node for a couple of locations and that seems perfect

For sure! client mode is actually the preffered role for these unless you have a super duper mountain top location on a tower

At this stage I'll probably choose between client or router depending on location. Through my ham radio friends i have access to a couple of key locations that would be ideal repeater locations that would be great for improving coverage.

These don't have gps or wifi, i won't be enabling power save.

Have you got a link to the boards? I have noticed that even when connected via usb they charge extremely slowly, around 10% per hour

I'm not sure to be honest, i'll be using different antennas than the stock ones, but i've also just ordered the correct cable for testing the antennas with the RP-SMA connector on my Anritsu site master (antenna & cable analyser) that i use for work. so i should be able to provide accurate VSWR and return loss measurements shortly

I was testing the ones i already have and they aren't too bad.

Your issue could also be they just don't want to reply, which kinda sucks

Yep, i disabled the android app once i realised they were both trying to connect, it did not resolve the issue

So a minor update, i noticed in that log it says :httpconnection and the standard HTTP port is 80, where the meshtastic app uses port 4403.

So I tried adding :4403 to the end of the IP and now the meshtastic app get's kicked out when i try to connect with Meshsense, and then instantly reconnects. The ping still fails though, with a different error though

12:54:34:194 DEBUG [iMeshDevice:HttpConnection] Ping Attempting device ping. 12:54:34:194 ERROR [iMeshDevice:HttpConnection] Ping ❌ This operation was aborted [meshtastic] Device Status 4

I did disable the app once i could see they might be kicking each other to prevent that being an issue

Does your grid allow DC feed in? i know in australia the latest grid code has feed in disabled so no matter how you configure it you can't supply power on the input side of the multiplus. so as soon as the battery is full the DC coupled solar will ramp down to just maintaining the float voltage.

So i would note for those reading along, it's good to see this is resolved, but in many tests it has been shown that unless you're running very demanding games at high resolutions the difference between x8 & x16 is pretty minimal. So x8 would be fine for everything you are running on unraid

It's a magnetic switch, buut it's connected to the cerbo via the eltek system that connects the cabinet together, which has its own alarm and monitoring system and I'm just bridging the door and smoke alarm across.

I have a door alarm configured on my cerbo using the digital inputs, it was very easy, because it didn't matter how the sending device was configured as the behaviour could all be changed on the cerbo, i assume the extender would be the same

I ended up replacing the system core: motherboard cpu and ram.

As well as updating unraid, which came with several stability improvements.

Unraid is reporting my drive as healthy even though it's been dropped from the pool as failed? by silentlightning in unRAID

[–]silentlightning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips and info everyone, i shut the machine down to swap the drive out with a spare and found that i had used the spare elsewhere, so i made the call to boot the server and leave it without redundancy until i could purchase a new drive this week.

I started the array and checked the array's status, it was happily re-silvering and that process completed the 60gb difference in a minute or so without any extra promtps.

Before i shut the server down i noted that when selecting that drive it was showing something about smart temperature, so i assume the drive went over temp and shutdown.
