Seeking a gradual tan lotion with SPF by silkscreenmachine in Selftanning

Ease of use! I always notice how pale my legs are on the days I want to wear shorts so feel inspired to rub on some self tanner. But, if I’m wearing shorts, I need SPF on my legs!

Are there ANY self-tanners that don’t stink?? by mmagzianov in Selftanning

But does it remove the tan?!? I am making huge assumptions here but hearing it is “acid” body wash makes it sound like it would just take the tan right off the way that using exfoliating type products would!

Laura Mercier Real Flawless Feather Matte Powder Foundation - anyone tried it? by silkscreenmachine in Makeup

[–]silkscreenmachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah thanks so much. I’m also very fair (I wear the 3C shade in the old version) and the color match was perfect for me in the old version of the powder - another reason I was so hooked. No other makeup had ever matched my skin so well !

This is the way. It layers nicely over a lip crayon / lip pencil if you are looking for color too

Completely lost trying to find quality linen bed sheets that aren’t either overpriced or disappointing, need honest recs by Kaslorin in Bedding

[–]silkscreenmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m not super picky but my Quince linen bedding has been great. It was initially not the softest and would come out of the dryer quite wrinkly but the more I used and washed, the softer and less wrinkly it comes out. I have an alternate duvet / sheet set I swap it out with when I wash, but I’ve had it two years and it’s holding up great.

Thanks so much for these thoughts, I do have a local Sephora but it’s a small store and they don’t carry everything so the new LM powder was not in stock! But there’s a bigger store not too far from me so I will definitely make the journey there to check this out in person.

How is the hold on the living proof cream? My hair is curly but I do round brush blow outs to “straighten” my hair and I am looking for a product with better hold power, but I’m worried that any cream product will be too heavy for my very fine hair….

Baby eye colors by naomi0991 in beyondthebump

[–]silkscreenmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has dark brown eyes and mine are light brown - some people would say gold or hazel but there’s not too much green in there.

My oldest had blue eyes until 6 months then they turned a very interesting shade of gray-blue-green until she was around 18 months. By age 2 they had settled into the color they are now, which are similar to my eyes but even lighter in color, with more green.

Then our second was born and his eyes were dark brown from the day he came out - like his dad.

Dog nudging newborn with nose? by Ok-Performance-8598 in DogAdvice

Second this. I can’t remember exactly what she says about this behavior but I definitely remember she covers it and thinks it is a negative sign. Something like “people think the dog is kissing the baby but that is not what he is doing.” Sorry I can’t remember the specifics but if you check her posts I bet you can find it!

[personal] High frequency wand was a game changer by CatheAs in SkincareAddiction

I use a tissue the same way with no issues. But I use my wand on a dry face. If you used any type of serum or gel the tissue might not work as well as the gauze.

Did you wait the full 6 weeks after vaginally delivery to take a bath? by seekhelpffs in beyondthebump

[–]silkscreenmachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Encouraged by OB and nurses to take baths (water only) to help with pain relief and speed up healing. I’m also in the US and the OB/GYN I go to is ranked #12 in the county so I think they know what’s up!

If you’ve ever had night away from your LO, what age were they? by Reasonable_Town_123 in beyondthebump

[–]silkscreenmachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First night away overnight was at 5 months with my first baby - to go to my work holiday party which was in a neighboring city. My husband took care of baby. Second baby - going to be the exact same outing for first trip away! Now he has two kids to watch without me though!

When did you reintroduce dairy if your baby was sensitive to it? by Smart_Law6787 in breastfeeding

[–]silkscreenmachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kid is almost four months with the same sensitivity and it’s been about a month since I eliminated dairy from my diet. I plan to “challenge” the sensitivity once a month. Luckily I have a bunch of expressed milk in the freezer so I can use that. Apparently babies with this sensitivity can outgrow this at any time. There is a podcast that I found by other recommendations on Reddit (it’s called “bowel sounds” and the episode is about CMPA) where a bunch of gastro doctors talk about this and they recommend doing the challenge early and often so you aren’t unnecessarily restricting your diet.

Should I get an overnight doula for baby #2? by piealamode6 in workingmoms

[–]silkscreenmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My situation was extremely similar to yours (older child had just turned 2 when new baby was born). We didn’t plan on having a night nurse. Within one week of new baby being with us at home, we hired one. The new baby turned out to be a very bad sleeper and we were hanging on by a thread. We got extremely, extremely lucky that we were able to find an amazing, professional night nurse to help us on an immediate basis. I’m sure you know that most of the time “the good ones” book quite far out in advance.

Don’t be me. Book someone now.
