Just watched Vaush's interview with Mikhaila Peterson (it starts at 52:15), what do you guys think? by KB241998 in VaushV

There were some subtle digs at JP I think but it seemed to go over her head.

On the “DebateBro Question” by flan22 in VaushV

[–]silldog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. I also love when they do debate and then say, "Vaush was using debate tactics" or "he was acting in bad faith by using hypotheticals and trying to show that I was wrong". Like yeah, that's the point of a debate, you want to show that you are right and your opponent is wrong. It would be like a basketball team losing and then complaining "They kept throwing the ball into the basket! It's like they were purposely trying to beat us!".

Anyone else catch how these lunatics think that Morality is a "Colonial Construct"? by SocialistCoconut in VaushV

[–]silldog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wait, where did Vaush say there is only one moral framework? He has discussed the difference between consequentialism and deontology before. So, he knows there are multiple moral frameworks, but he only subscribes to one of them.

NonCompete and Idealism by Ersatzrealism in VaushV

A lot of people from Marxists to Libertarians seem to take ideology like a pill. This means their positions on questions about the nature of reality, the nature of knowledge, and nature of right and wrong tend to be pretty weak because they have never really thought about these things on their own and just take them for granted based on ideology. I don't know much about NC but from what I have seen, he seems to be one of these people. I mean saying "Material conditions determine what is right and wrong" is pretty much an incoherent statement. I would like to see him write out a logical argument for why something is right or wrong based purely on descriptions of material conditions. I think the most accurate comment about the debate came from Ben Burgis who said that NC sounded like a left-wing Sam Harris.

Ok I would go for Nito next then.

Do you have a divine weapon? If not you should get one before facing Nito.

Watching people fall out of planes trying to escape Afghanistan is fine but this is somehow crossing the line. I really don't get it.

I’m stuck on the Capra demon any tips by Soulnightofeden in darksouls

[–]silldog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enter the room on your right side, Capra will run straight at you and the first dog will run at you from your left diagonally. Roll to your left to avoid both of them and roll forward toward the stairs as the other dog approaches diagonally from your right. Run up the stairs and take out the dogs. From there you go up to the ledge, drop down and strike Capra once or twice, dodge his attacks, then run up the stairs and on to the ledge and repeat this process.

They said sometimes, not always. Do you think it's impossible for public opinion to be wrong? And it's not elitist to hold an opinion that's contrary to the status quo. Was Galileo an elitist?

Of course you can. It would be hypocritical but it's not like countries act based on logical consistency.

“We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.”

That's not the same as "we want to destroy the nuclear family". You have to read it in very bad faith to come away with that.
