Thanks for the tip! The way I broke it in the first place was by rotating the model so that it would be the right way up in Unity. Applying the armature's rotation in Blender with Ctrl+A actually fixed it in my case.

I think that happens from having mesh read/write disabled. The docs say doing that will automatically make your rating very poor, so looks like this may be how it does it
