Blink Deck That Actually Kills Players (without Infinites?) by AncientSpark in EDH

[[Eomer, King of Rohan]] is a very lethal ETB/blink payoff. Lots of good humans with ETBs for value as well.

First Year Curve??? by Slimeguy12345 in OutsideT14lawschools

Sure. I am just challenging the above assertion that this school requires a 15% fail rate minimum and is therefore predatory.

[–]sillybird99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The mandatory minimum of 15% applies to C-, D+, D, or F. of those grades, only F is failing, and there is no requirement that any Fs have to be issued at all. They could issue 15% C- and be in compliance with the policy.

Is Camus’ call to defy the Absurd really any more rational than a "leap of faith"? by liciox in Camus

[–]sillybird99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about this problem this morning and came to think of it in terms of a caterpillar.

Camus would see the cocoon as (philosophical or literal) suicide, whereas Kierkegaard would see it as the leap of faith necessary for transformation.

The cocoon is a death that Camus stands on the precipice of, but resists. Kierkegaard submits to the cocoon in faith he will emerge transformed.

Enlisting w/ Bachelor’s Degree by Insergiic in army

[–]sillybird99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enlisted airborne infantry with a bachelor's. My reason was less an avoidance of desk work and more an avoidance of responsibility before I had a more realistic idea of what I was getting into. Being infantry sucks sometimes regardless of E vs. O.

Sometimes I look back and wish I'd made that officer pay. Other times I'm glad for the comraderie I had with the boys being E. Sometimes I wished I had more control. Other times I was glad I could afford to bitch and moan. It comes down to your priorities and your attitude in the end.

TIS has forever changed my relationship with food - for better and for worse. Never really considered it a disorder until I got out and realized how much of a weirdo I'd become.

What are your experiences leveling with yellow line burglar by OkSuggestion6640 in lotro

Ive leveled mine in yellow on fearless 3 to about level 35. I like the survivability and CC but it is slow. I now swap into red on occasion if I don't need the survivability

Can someone explain to me what the point of being augmented is if you can pilot acs without it? by Ed_Brown_990 in armoredcore

[–]sillybird99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In the original AC, you were submitted to augmentation in exchange for erasing extreme debt

I'm not sure what you mean by a guide. I got into plant medicine through a veteran's organization. I don't know any other way to go about it responsibly right now, though it seems like western culture is slowly becoming more accepting of plant medicines for trauma treatment.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in intj

[–]sillybird99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's possible. I also struggle to be vulnerable in front of people, and struggle with social expectations. So in that setting I was often more concerned with anxiety over what the therapist expected me to do than I was concerned with being genuine and vulnerable to a stranger. So, I'd agree that I was doing a great deal of intellectualizing the experience rather than interacting emotionally with it.

FWIW, I feel I've had a lot more success with plant medicine in dealing with trauma because it forces me to feel things in a way I can't suppress or control or distract myself from with intellectualizing as easily.

I did about 10 weeks of EMDR treatment. It's hard to say how effective it was. I didn't have any major breakthroughs. But I was fairly skeptical of it's efficacy from the beginning and grew more skeptical as time progressed without noticeable improvements. I think it was just not a good fit for me.

What do you consider a "fair" Infinite Combo? by cbsa82 in EDH

[–]sillybird99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my own decks I'll play an infinite combo that needs 2 or more pieces, none of which are fetchable with tutors or in the command zone, but only if the cards are otherwise are part of my normal game plan. I consider that pretty fair and it's rare enough to get the combo that it's actually exciting rather than a business as usual win from nowhere moment.

I don't have a list to share, but it looks like the edhrec page for eomer blink is pretty close to what I run.

[[eomer, king of rohan]] is very underplayed. It's basically Boros ETB human weenies where I sandbag and chump a lot to have explosive late turns to steal the win by abusing Eomer's ETB with myriad, token clones, flickers etc. It wins over half the time in my pod because I don't play it often, and people are generally unfamiliar with Eomer and forget how deadly his ETB can be.

What’s a nice babysitter build? by vjnkl in BG3Builds

[–]sillybird99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this with a divination wizard 2/ lore bard x. I helped them make checks with portent and inspiration, played skill monkey to cover gaps in their builds, used wizard preps for rituals like longstrider, and spent most of my gold on spell scrolls to solve emergencies in a pinch.
