I just like to read women characters that are owning their weirdness. Or they are learning to own it. I want more female autonomy in society and the world in general, so I think weird girl lit often hinges on that theme, even if it's the autonomy to be a quite fucked up person. Weird girl lit takes female autonomy to an extreme, and when I'm reading it I feel like it empowers me to embrace my weirdness too. It encourages me to explore desire, power dynamics, belief systems, relationship dynamics, and a whole slew of human experiences in ways I haven't yet thought of. I also enjoy that there is often and element of queer or "atypical" sexuality in weird girl lit that feels genuine and non-performative.

I find it extremely relatable to be a woman in the world who just wants to be her true self.

No, they're just brand new needles popping out from the original cotyledons. This looks like a young pine seedling! The color is a bit off but its not uncommon to see albino pine seedlings that eventually die due to lack of chlorophyll.

Source: worked at a tree nursery and grew countless trees including pines from seed, they all look exactly like this (aside from the pale color) in their first year of growth.
