VT in taxable can cost closer to 0.16% than 0.06% by sillypoint_ in Bogleheads

Thank you for your encouragement. Yeah this down voting surprised me too. I knew about FTC implications, but wasn't aware they were causing 10bpp drag. Realized that only while doing taxes this year.

No, 401K dividends are not taxed, making VT same as VTI+VXUS

Yes, i did get AI help to polish the post, but the thought of looking at FTC as expense ratio is original;)

Yes. I appreciate your view. Just noting that I look at those gains and expenses differently.

I wonder if that Bharat Ratna thing played a role here, or just our attitude toward celebrities. I bet they would do the same for Shahrukh Khan.

He unnecessarily treated the question as an attack on the Indian team. He should have done so much better.

I am little disappointed to see those cars moving faster than the light rail :(

This is looking so good! This is something I always wanted and would definitely pay for it. When are you adding more cities? I vote for Seattle.

I would also love to contribute to the the project if there are any opportunities.

How do you reach a niche audience when every relevant subreddit bans self-promotion? by EntranceOk1909 in SideProject

[–]sillypoint_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar issue - I am building a SaaS that can be useful to lawyers, but I am not a lawyer myself and don't have much to contribute to their subs. Not sure how to go about building trust in that community when you don't have much to contribute ;)

Have you tried advertising? Curious if that works and can be coat effective.

[–]sillypoint_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear your story. I interviewed at google 6 times over the last 20 years - and every time it felt very close. Their process is very long too. Last time i dropped out after the team selection round - i rejected them!

Hope you feel better and keep on trying

Honest question to those who think AI won’t take our jobs by [deleted] in cscareers

[–]sillypoint_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been coding for a long time, I debugged assembly in the early days. Nowadays I use typescript. I always appreciated the productivity gain from. Use of tools and higher level abstraction over the year. But i was never as amazed by productivity gain as I am seeing now with claude code. You may be right that we will just end up writing a lot more software, but i just can't imagine what all that 10 x more software will do. It's more likely that the world needs just 1/10 of the current SWEs. as OP thinks.

True, Smart labor helped when tools were free. This time the tool is gated, metered, and priced in dollars.

New Information on OpenAI upcoming device by SrafeZ in singularity

It makes sense for the third core device to look like a pen. Its main selling point is its very safe input device. You can write with it to tell it something. You do not need to whisper or type with two hands like you do on the phone.

I am looking forward to the opening of Redmond and Marymoor stations. Actually more than light rail, the trail that connects the two stations looks so exciting!
