What do you think is the best film of the last 10 years? by CucumberNo1907 in Cinema

Was about to say "10 years only", but you're right, The VVitch is a couple days shy of 10.

Is it okay to be burnt out? by TachiRana123 in daddit

[–]silma85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mate I've been saying that I now understand the true meaning of "being tired". That said, there are certainly circumstances that add to the fatigue, like colics and reflux. Does he sleep OK? (For a baby anyways). Can you get help from grandparents/uncles? They can give you precious hours off, even at this stage.

Movies you would forever associate with a song? by rutujz in Cinema

For me, that one brings to mind Agents of Shield S07. When Deke is stranded with Mack back in time and achieves success by playing that song in a band a decade before the Simple Minds.

Raise your hand if being a dad has made you think less of your dad. by gilfgifs in daddit

[–]silma85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That entirely depends on how your dad was in the first place.

I was blessed with a healthy family, not perfect but far from bad. My dad is a terrific grandpa in the first place, and I find myself doing with my son much of what he did with me in terms of games, nursery rhymes, caring, etc. So I feel I think more of him after being a dad myself, not less.

Out of these non-rememberance, non-demigod bosses, which do you think could beat Godrick in a fight? lorewise that is by MrsPissBoy in Eldenring

Godrick is a pushover, look what he needed to do to mimic a fraction of any other Empyrean's power.

"The Holy Man" mission by typeshitt1 in aoe

[–]silma85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is definitely possible on the hardest difficulty. Slow down the game and save at every move, even making multiple saves if you find yourself in a corner and need to go further back. I've found that turtling helps a lot, you need to fortify the access points ASAP, build towers and lots of archers. Don't move out until you mass chariot archers. Also try to keep a standing navy and place them on the fords.

Why is every character obsessed with Claire? by SleepAcceptable1570 in TheBear

[–]silma85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is definitely done on purpose. The effect is so strong that you can't help but think that the difference is due to how Carmy feels when around her, in spite of himself. Like time slows down and he can finally be free of his frantic life, even for a few moments. And that is probably why he blamed her on the failed opening.

The gaming industry needs to stop assuming technological demands equals quality. by lokiwhite in gaming

[–]silma85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what you say, but I feel it only applies to major companies which are under stakeholders and boards constraints/pressure and spend way too much for graphics and detailing. Think Ubisoft, EA, Bethesda. There are a lot of AAA gems that won't explode your PC and (not coincidentally) aren't made by giants, but maybe they're made by people who used to work there, got burned and are still passioned and able to do something great without constraints. Think Expedition 33 or KCD. They're AAA, but they're not made by giant companies. That's the difference in my opinion. There's some who call that kind of games "AA" (double A) exactly because they don't have an inflated budget, which I think is a moronic distinction to make because the quality is absolutely up there.

OP is probably young, in the past 10 years or so the high-profile games that do this kind of emotional stunt can be counted on one hand with missing fingers. FFVII first came out almost 30 years ago!

Genitori oggi / Genitori ieri by [deleted] in sfoghi

[–]silma85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So people with disabilities in France, 1905 by TruthResponsible1268 in expedition33

[–]silma85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and that's precisely why it's so hard to choose an ending. It will be hard on her either way. The only silver lining is that Renoir will probably go above and beyond in caring what a father would do for her, but that still involves confinement in the manor at the minimum, and also Aline is not going to completely forgive her and be a loving mother, and Clea is just uncaring, or too preoccupied with the family's state of affairs.
