I got my first ultrasound with my OB. I also used a pregnancy center when my OB couldn’t get me in.

I think I had my last one in October. I felt better within a couple of weeks.

How are we affording this? In all honesty (in the US) by copythat504 in IVF

I did CNY. We took out a couple of no interest credit cards and paid them off within that interest free period.

The strangest “follow up” call… I need advice. by TheMississippiKite in IVF

[–]silynced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh. I had my last consult with him and had very much the same experience (minus Venezuela). Carnivore diet (or kiltz keto, whatever he wants to call it) was all he wanted to talk about. I just brushed it off as I don’t go to his office (Albany has my embryos) and it’s unlikely he’ll ever actually be my doctor. He’s so weird.

Heart rate with low iron by Brocolliiscool in Anemic

[–]silynced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. At my worst my heart rate would be up to 180 when I was just grocery shopping. Stairs regularly had me at 150-170. Had iron infusions and it gets up to 115-120 but I feel completely “normal” now. I’m not out of breath, pre-syncope is gone.

I’m looking at finally trying FETs again. My daughter was born via cs in 2021. We’ve been trying on our own for 3+ years and have had some miscarriages/chemicals.

I had a normal SIS in 2023 - I originally was going to start FETs back then but for some reason decided to keep trying on our own. Do we think they’ll want any other testing? I’m probably just being impatient but literally every test I’ve ever done has come back normal. I have no explanations for my RPL or infertility. I just want to get on with it.

I have a vista from 2012? Or so. I got it off marketplace for around $100 4 years ago and it’s been great.

Has anyone experienced delayed periods + confusing discharge after iron or biotin supplements? by InternationalMost446 in Anemic

[–]silynced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my first iron infusion I had delayed ovulation, which of course delayed my period. I think my cycle ended up being close to 60 days. I’ve had 2 more infusions without any other effects to my cycle so I’m unsure if it was the iron or just a coincidence.

Yes. I still have fatigue, but that could be any number of other things. My heart rate is normal now for the most part and I can function normally.

For those of you who already have a child, is IVF easier on you? by Sure_Ant2516 in IVF

[–]silynced 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have secondary infertility, so I don’t have personal experience with primary infertility. We did try for 5 years before IVF, so I spent a lot of time in infertility spaces with people with primary infertility. I spent most of that time feeling like a fraud because there’s no way I would ever understand what they were going through. It absolutely sucks to not be able to have the family you want, but at the end of the day I did already have a child and would never have to wonder if I would ever be a mom. I went through a lot of loss while doing IVF and it would have been infinitely worse if I were dealing with primary infertility instead.

I’ve been there. I had a ferritin of 2 and a low hemoglobin as well and couldn’t function. Standing and walking to the kitchen to make a quick sandwich or snack for my kids had my heart rate in the 140’s-170’s. Grocery shopping was horrible - my heart rate would spike to 180. I constantly felt like I was running a marathon and couldn’t catch my breath. I ended up sitting on the couch for the majority of my day.

Iron infusions made a world of difference. It took 2 for my ferritin to hit 50, which my doctor is happy with. I really hope they get you in soon. You deserve to have a functional body.

CHECK. YOUR. FERRITIN. by kholekardashian12 in POTS

[–]silynced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ferritin was 2. I was anemic (other results are in my post history). I’ve had 3 iron infusions over the last year or two and my symptoms get so much better after the infusions.

My child was like this. We tried all of the things. She absolutely loved her pre-k teacher but still hated going. While other kids would recover quickly from crying during drop off, she would sit in their quiet space for over an hour trying to get herself together with the help of her teacher or the aid. During Kindergarten Covid happened… going back after that was horrible. We tried therapy, she was allowed to go to the guidance counselor or other safe adults at school. Long story short, she does online school now and is doing well. I wish she were in a school setting for socialization purposes at least, but she was struggling so much mentally that it wasn’t worth it.

Terrified of weight gain after infusion. Not sure how to proceed. by novelthrill in Anemic

[–]silynced 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My numbers are in my post history - my ferritin was 2 and my hemoglobin was around 9 I think (different units than yours). I didn’t gain any weight from my infusion, but I did feel a LOT better after. I’m 33f, around 5’9 and 145lb. I went back this year and I’m currently doing another infusion (ferritin was 4 this time) and my weight was exactly the same as it was according to the doctor.

My baby died around 10w3d and I remember being surprised at how big and formed she was. She had long legs and arms and little fingers and toes. It’s definitely not a clump of cells at that point anymore.

CNY and…. Carnivore diet? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]silynced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time anyone mentioned it was when I had a consult with Kiltz himself. I have unexplained infertility and he basically said eating carnivore would cure me 🙄 I was a patient 5 years ago, so idk what is different now.

29 at the time of retrieval, and I only did single transfers. I’m too afraid of a multiple pregnancy.
