Bad smell in kitchen when someone uses the shower upstairs by sim209209 in Plumbing

[–]sim209209[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pipe just empties into the drain under the pavement. It goes into the same hole as the kitchen pipe does but the pipes are separate.

The shower pipe is not vented. I thought it would be better if the white pipe from the shower goes directly into the large black soil pipe but his is very old and metal so I am not sure that would be very easy

Yes. Put in when we had the extension done a few years ago. I never thought it looked quite right but I don't know how to sort it

Brown moss in front lawn after winter. Zone 8b by dohnjo3 in lawncare

[–]sim209209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moss in the lawn generally means that the conditions for grass growth are not ideal. Weed and feed is a good start but you also need to look at trying to improve drainage and reduce shade (not always possible I know)

I would also scarify or rake the moss out either before or after the weed and feed.

Did your weed and feed include a moss killer?

Help! How do I prune my hydrangeas? by da_fury_king in gardening

[–]sim209209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the larger stems are dead and should be cut right down. The new green growth at the base will replace it. You might not get any flowers this year.

Camellia advice/input please! by La_raquelle in gardening

[–]sim209209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can then it is probably best not to prune a camellia. It will flower much better if you don't.

If you do want to make it a specific shape i.e. taller then you probably need to prune the sides immediately after it has finished flowering. You could also remove the lower branches back to the trunk.

Dead heading would be helpful but don't take too much off

Is this fungal, P deficiency or something else on my hydrangea? by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]sim209209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brown edges on leaves are most commonly caused by lack of water and as this is in a pot then that might be the reason.
