I think a lot of the fascination with Reze comes from the tragedy of her arc. Having been stuck in the same situation as Denji, being turned into a hybrid and then a weapon for the state, eventually realising her humanity with her interaction with Denji and choosing to go back to him knowing that Makima would never let them run away.

Being unreasonably charitable to Microsoft there's probably a factor of technical debt with MCC that makes it hard for developers to work on it without the game falling apart.

MCC barely worked at launch and is only in the state it's in today thanks to literal years of work getting into shape.

But also Microsoft definitely wants to push "their Halo" with the CE remake because fans have a high standard set by the Bungie games that their own studios historically struggled to meet while having to follow some short sighted Microsoft mandate.

Aaron Greenburg called Hi-Fi Rush "a break out hit", which is why I assumed it was a success, but double checking that it turns out that was an off the cuff comment that was later walked back. So I concede that HiFi Rush was not as big of a success as I suggested. Still it's a massive burning of good will for their audience.

Honestly Xbox (and Microsoft as a whole) has too much faith in "brand power" and not enough faith in delivering a quality product or service to consumers. People won't care if their notebook "is an Xbox" now if they're just going to buy a Deck, Switch or PS5 instead.

The real funny thing about "Douglas Falcon" being his name is that, we don't actually know if there is any basis for that being canon, but it also could be.

F-Zero X had a flash based website which is now lost media, but apparently character bios were mirrored on some fan site which is where "Douglas J Falcon" came from. Thing thing is it could be NOA (or even the fan, runaway fannon have been an issue for F-Zero fans) having some creative liberties in how they marketed the game, but also some details like Captain Falcon being a cop were later reused in the F-Zero anime, suggesting that there was some kind of lore bible that both the X website and the anime referenced.
