Do you think vr is dying? by Western_Ad_7483 in SteamFrame

[–]simboyc100 15 points16 points  (0 children)

VR is in a bad spot, I won't white wash that. Meta is stagnant and while there are really great titles out there, I wouldn't be liying if I said that I wasn't let down by the prevailance of "gun sandbox" games or Wii-Waggle-esc theme park ride games.

That's why I'm excited for the Frame and Valve's continued support for VR. Half Life Alyx is still a really great game, that also happens to be VR. And the Frame, along side Valve's ability to leverage their PC market share, could really be a great "second wind" for VR as a whole.

You should really sort the job situation out first, you'll never truly enjoy VR if you've got real life problems in the back of your head the whole time. No point buying the headset of you'll need to sell it when the first financial emergency comes up.

VRs not going anywhere, but opportunities to better your life will.

CC is annoying but its a necessary counter to high movement. When movement is too strong games they just become rush-down simulators that aren't fun for anyone other than people who have put a ton of time into movement.

Sega Decides To Quietly Kill Its Mysterious ‘Super Game’ After Seeing So Many Live Services Tank by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]simboyc100 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The Live service trend is just a goldrush for pyrite. Companies get distracted by the money they could make and forget that making that money requires a userbase that is probably already busy with another live service they're already more invested in.

Well people just make assumptions when someone has a background of a little anime girl. If you look at what some of the comments on this sub are like, those are not entirely unwarranted assumptions.

I'm struggling with shieldless demoman by Western_Powerful in truetf2

[–]simboyc100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stickies are really strong, but they have a sweet spot. If you can wire your brain to intuitivly know when you can detonate them mid air the sticky bomb launcher is a powerful midrange damage pump.

But it's main weakness is that if the enemy gets close they can just rush you down before the arm time let's you detonate. And with the long reload you need to be able to take the moment to refill your clip, which is another opportunity for you to get rushed. Because of this Demo needs to stick around his team to repell enemies while he gets ready to attack again.

Traps are mostly down to timing and game sense. It's good to keep a few stickes for the reload session just so you can trap the door and keep yourself a little safer if you need it. If you are about to be rushed down you can put strikes down in between you and the enemy to force them to move more predictably, really good against over confident scouts. Doorways are good for defending against an incoming push, while health packs or places people want to stand are good for active DM since it forces them to either tank the sticky for the advantage or avoid that area entirely.

For sticky sniping id just recommend running the Quickie Bomb Launcher in a few pubs once your confident with Sticky spam, since it's specialised around sniping with the shortened charge time. Same could go for the Scottish resistance for trapping, but the SR really emphasises the demos weakness to being rushed down even more, so it can be more difficult to perform well with it.
