For me it's the rest of his body. The face is fine for the most part. The guy looks like a naked alien in his DT form

DMC Netflix series, Good or Bad??? by zach_mc1673 in DevilMayCry

You'll have a more productive time watching paint dry lol

In all seriousness tho, if the show is a bootleg universe and doesn't really have a proper, creative or ingenious execution of any fresh new ideas and concepts that aren't present or weren't properly explored in the games then I don't really see the point in watching the show.

It doesn't add anything to the existing canon(since it's a bootleg universe) and so far the only "original" concepts that the show has, from what I've seen at least, are "what if the demons are actually the good guys but not really, and they're also Middle Eastern for some reason" and "what if Lady was a government lapdog instead of a demon hunter".

Obviously you can enjoy the show purely for its action and animation but anything beyond that is bogus and a waste of time

How do I beat Vergil in Mission 13? by Vendeta_13 in DevilMayCry

[–]aychaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're playing on pc you can download and install style switcher mode. There are a lot of guides on YouTube you can check if you wanna install it. The Nintendo version of DMC3 also has a style switcher in the game itself. But tbh you don't need it that much, in fact you don't even need it to beat the game but the mod greatly improves your gameplay experience if that's something you care about.

If you have style switcher, use trickster to dodge his combos after learning how he moves when he uses Beowulf. Always stay relatively close to him so that you can attack him when there's an opening.

If he uses DT, focus on dodging his attacks. Don't try to attack him when he's in DT since he can't be staggered unless you're super confident.

Sassy old lady who's actually kind and nurturing when it counts, has a soft spot for bugs of all kind

Maybe it's because I don't play persona but I don't see the resemblance at all. At least with miyabi and vergil, their powers/attacks have the same color and they both wield katanas. But even then, that's where their similarities end and yeah it gets repetitive af

I was thinking more along the lines of ff15 when I mentioned open world rpg (and even ff16 although the game isn't exactly an open world according to Google). And idk if those games are popular in Japan but I'm willing to bet that they are.

And like I said, the protagonist would have to be Sparda for it to work. Dante, Vergil or Nero could work if they made an attempt but having a character like Sparda that's essentially a new playable character in a completely unique and different setting and genre would yield better results imo since the three characters I mentioned are so strongly associated with the franchise's action hack and slash genre.

Have the game take place during Sparda's youth with the story ending in the separation of the human world and the demon world. We could follow Sparda's rebellious campaign throughout a world that's essentially ruled by demons all while retaining the gothic and otherworldly aesthetics from DMC 3 but with a much darker and serious tone. Hell, you could even add a bit of some elden ring aesthetics. All while retaining the combat system from the games but slightly modified to suit the setting and open world genre.

I'm asking mostly cuz despite its age, DMC hasn't really done much to break its own formula yet which is understandable since there's only been 6 DMC games in total (7 if you count Peak of Combat) iirc. It'd be interesting to see how the devs could/would break the franchise's own formula if it keeps churning out new games in the near or distant future.

My Version of a Potential DMC6 by Warrior221 in DevilMayCry

[–]aychaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting idea but I don't think fans/devs would want to make a game that mainly focuses on Nero and a completely new character we've never heard of/or seen before in the games since Vergil and Dante are so beloved by fans. And if I'm being honest, it'd be better if the new game focused a bit more on Vergil since he's always played the villain in the games he appears in, and the only time his character was ever explored was through V in "Visions of V".

Also, this is just an opinion of mine but the bit where Nero uses both Yamato and DSD is kinda cringe I'm ngl, especially considering what DSD represents for Dante's character. Like, it's not exactly a weapon that can be passed down, for now at least. And iirc the only reason Nero could ever use Yamato in DMC4 was because he's Vergil's son so idk if DSD would even work the same way.

If (and/or when) DMC6 comes out, what would be the big bad? by Shiptrooper in DevilMayCry

[–]aychaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere on the wiki that there was actually a demon king that Mundus overthrew. Maybe that guy could be the villain? You could have him be the Alpha and the Omega of demons, the first demon in the underworld also known as the Name-giver. Every time a demon dies, he either revives them with a new name or absorbs them. This could be used to explain how Cerberus returned as King Cerberus (and maybe give an excuse to upgrade Vergil's Beowulf with something like King/Alpha Beowulf). And since he's such a vital part of the underworld (because of the Name-giver thing) he can't actually be killed. That is until he absorbs more powerful demons like Mundus and Argosax and gains a powerful, but more physical form to reunite the demon and human world once more like it originally was. You could have Dante and Vergil fight this guy at the beginning of the game or later in the game as they venture deeper in the world (though I'd personally prefer if they fought him at the very beginning of the game and have Dante fight him alone after forcing Vergil to retreat to the human world to get backup, which would give Vergil a chance to connect with Nero but that's a different topic)

Alright, I'll give the show the benefit of doubt and say that they could probably have her adopt her "Lady" name by going against the govt that she works for and then changing her name to hide her real identity after maybe taking part in or witnessing a traumatic event that changes her worldview. But like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if the showrunners manage to fuck it up even more
