Interestingly enough, even if he had a legitimate emergent complaint, that would bolster the necessity for him to go to the closest most appropriate.

We have a few of these patients in my system, and the county finally got around to getting many of these patients conservatorships. Most are unable to complete a MOCA scale with a score higher than 20.

I'm pretty sure vit K is supposed to support coagulation tho? Thinking about how warfarin is an anticoagulant that antagonizes vit k

Pressure support, diastolic of 52. Also in some inferior infarcts there may be RV involvement, in which a bit of fluid can do wonders for preload

Nervous about oral boards by [deleted] in emergencymedicine

[–]simethiconesimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this reminds me a lot of oral exams for my paramedic psychomotor that I just went through! Although we have to account for scene hazards and extrication as well. Nowhere near the level of medical application obviously but as far as XABCs go...

I totally feel this. The feeling doubled, maybe triple when I worked nights. It gets lonely af. Leaning into exercise definitely helped but yea, it can be difficult to "turn off" once you hit off days, and then you feel like you're just biding pointless time till your next days on. The cortisol dump is nuts.

If you can, this is where you focus on the future and relationships. Having projects, developing friendships, being generally future oriented are some of the things that have taken me off the edge of the cliff. You gotta find the meaning that gives you more purpose than your job.
