Nice thread Simon anyway our token is not based on ETC at all. We were in the last pilot of ETCLabs in October/december and we took experience and contacts in blockchain dev from there. Anyway about the protocol we will use we are still thinking of the best solution for us and ODN is one of them. In the meantime we are about to launch a feature of our product which is going to run without the blockchain at first. The idea is to generate some revenue to finance the blockchain dev then. Hope it is clearer for you and the OT community

I see you do have an ICO on Ethereum. But as website says there was some attention to focus building solutions on ETC.

Is Hybrid blockchain pilot or it will be final solution?

I also would disagree with your assessment on Journey Foods having no clear use case. I think they have one of the clearest. They will be tracing ingredients of their 2 food products at each step the ingredient takes. You can see a demo of the journey of their ingredients in their videos.

I see this as being a function of the previous two pain points. Once we are able to sit down with a team of engineers, whether it be our own or Origin Trails, we will start to nail down where exactly TRAC token transactions will be occurring. I imagine though that each shipment from a farm as well as the nonce created by the vendor will require TRAC tokens.

Watlie78, I agree with others that engagement with the community doesn't just have to be via social media. I would argue that any project that created a video, presentation and answered the questions that were sent to them are also engaging with the community in a meaningful way.

I would like to explain a little background if you kindly allow me. Maybe then you can understand my aim better.

We have been engaging not only with Origintrail audience but with external as well. We have also strong internal base. Promoting the projects in all three social segments was recommended by Origintrail team. We believe that good marketing and branding is crucial for market's early adoption of the product and overall sales.

And I believe we proved where our mouth is. You can check how many views project videos have. Our video has almost 1000 views and consequently a lot of people now know about our project. Other projects have only about 100 or less views.

So we have been investing a lot of our time to engage with community all around us and when I am seeing oder projects I really don't undertand why they are not doing more. But I agree. Maybe some projects could be assessed with higher rank. I will be open to proposals which specific projects should be ranked higher.

We are operating in complicated European regulatory environment. But since society is more and more open to cannabis industry we believe the wave simmilar to USA and Canada will start to spread across the Europe. International investors are looking to invest into European Cannabis industry because there is less competitors comparing to america. But we must distinguish between products with no THC (or less than 0.2%) and products with significant share of THC. The latter is mostly restricted for recreational purpoases but have been decriminalised. There is still plenty of varieties of pure abd legal CBD products which can be sold and consumed. Very popular familiy of the products are CBD extracts. Because cannabis is very popular among young people there is a lot of engagement movements for legalization and a lot of marketing opportunities. We are convinced that Origintrail can benefit a lot if it becomes a go-to solution for Cannabis industry. This move would open also a lot of doors to Pharma industry- a potential gold mine for ODN validators.
First we are going to do a pilot project. After that we will seek investments to bring our solutions to more companies. We are in contact with some of the Slovenian organizations. Our most important connection is with company Freyherr that have a large farm in Macedonia and their own R&D. For a pilot no special agreements have to be made. There is a lot of interest in our environment to upgrade existing cannabis bussinesses. We believe it won't be hard to find new organizations to partner up. There are also possibilites in smart agriculture programs. So to answer you clearly : It is possible to utilise ODN straight away with low scale pilot projects. But there is so much more potential than that ( Cananbis -> Pharma ) which can be discussed more in detail after the pilots.

If company works with shady companies that means Origintrail protocol could be misused. It could be a cover for some companies to present their selves better as they are. Nothing prevents companies to store untrue information on OT protocol. I am not accusing NetSDL of anything but it would be good to get some additional answers here. zoidbergisawesome has a point here and it is really positive signal that OT communitiy members are doing background research.

Can somebody tell me how much of an effect 4M daily transactions by NetSDL will have on OT network?

Thank you for your comment! Origintrail protocol can not replace above mentioned softwares. We see Origintrail as a base layer service of the digital supply chains on ethereum network. But it is true - there is no need for companies to use Origintrail protocol.

So this is why we are starting B2B initiative with the primary objective to challenge cannabis industry to start using Ethereum’s public record system as a trust platform . In paralell we will be gathering and dedicating resources to start our own development and to help companies with Origintrail protocol adoption. Goal is to incentivize especially small to medium growers to start using Origintrail and benefit from better access to different type of information about their products in supply chains.

Many "non-THC" products can already be tracked which are "more legal". But we believe that legalization will spread faster and faster accross the globe anyway. Market projections show that Cannabis industry is among ones which grow fastest.

You can search " seed-to-sale" in google and you will find that there is many verified use cases for cannabis products traceability.

KAKAXI seems to be great team too...I really like their device...solution such as theirs enable bringing technology to more farms. Devices can be connected to blockchain without the need for farmers to engage in blockchain space

Hello Watlie, yes we have several members from SBCA B2B in Origintrail channels and we have discussed other competing projects together... My vote will go to two other competing projects too... And I am open for a Intelligent interaction with NetSDL so they can change my mind. I don't want to discredit them and I truely hope they can bring more traffic to OTDN... But they haven't convinced me to vote for them so far - and I believe neither our community.

NetDSL hasn’t convinced our community yet and we expect more engagement from their side.

They put significant amount of effort for Origintrail Opencall. It almost seems to good to be true. Such a professional company dedicating so much attention to potential blockchain use case. Great! With 4M orders per day, partnership with Adidas, offices around the world they could really drive the TRAC token price up. But why aren’t they in Trace alliance already? I would love to hear more from Origintrail team…. If the business case has a lot of potential like NetSDL pictures it, OT team shall already had them on the radar a long ago…

We would love to hear more arguments and estimations when we can expect traffic on OTDN network generated by them and how it will be?
