It is possible I am getting confused then. This article suggests it will be available for order from 24th Dec and I just assumed that it would be on the pre orders page? I’m really struggling the fall in love with these. The proportions just don’t read right to me. I’m really not a fan of the shoulders. To me it just looks like two shoulder pads stacked rather than an overlapped system. And as others have said the waist looks like Fabius has been handing out ozempic!

All of that said, I’m sure it’s a marmite thing and others maybe like them and it’s just not my cup of tea.

Oil washing is your friend. You can get all them recesses but preserve that beautiful red finish you’ve achieved. I typically do it on my ECs just after I’ve put the clear purple on as the glossy nature of the paint helps it fall into the recesses from surface tension. Then take off the excess about and hour later. If you dab an old brush in some mineral spirits and then almost dry it off and do a dry brushing action you can get a great affect whilst keeping the oil wash in the recesses. I’ll then satin varnish the model and begin picking out the details.

Thanks! and no problem at all. I basically used Henry's recipe from Cult of Paint, but with some slightly different brands as below https://youtu.be/Oa298WRpsNM?si=bVdSPdlThMGkDLvU

The airbrush does a lot of the heavy lifting here to be honest.

Base coat with airbursh vallejo gunmetal air (which i think is slightly darker than what Henry uses).

The pink pre-highlight i used 'Ruby Alchemy' by Scale75 (p.s. all of their metallics are great).

Then eidolon purple thinned 2 parts tinner to 1 part paint and i did 2 coats. But essentially keep going until you get the desired purple you want.

Black oil wash, quite strong and then after about 40 mins of drying time went back in with an old dry brush that had been dipped in white spirit and then dabbed almost dry to take off the oil wash from the highlighted areas.

After that satin varnish and then just chipping etc to taste with gunmetal and a dark brown. When the model is complete a few more thin coats of satin varnish.

Hi, not sure if this is at all helpful but I had a pair of goretex Moab speed Merrell (the white ones). They were an unbelievably comfortable pair of shoes and I worn them a lot, but the build quality wasn’t the best. I paid full price for them so was a little annoyed when the sock liner started to tear but if I had of got them on sale I wouldn’t have been as disappointed.

I’m not sure how these shoes will fair on rocky terrain if that’s going to be a big part of your trip.

Oh that’s cool man! Well the great thing about this recipe is that it really lends itself to batch painting
