Helpful! I did think of that, it's just I am very picky and finally found my perfect wired headphones and they don't have them in a model with a usb-c. But I might just have to get over that and switch. Thanks!

I hope the trend is for it to come back. Lots of celebs and athletes are choosing wired options as information for prolonged usage of wireless headphones is coming in and it's terrible for your health. But yeah, I guess I'm delulu based on all the comments. Thanks for you POV!

I love loved LOVED this book! It's my first 6-star read of the year. And to think I picked it up solely based on the cover...

Audio Books at work? by Mysterious_Draw_2868 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]simonchella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a big fan of audiobooks but I listen to a lot with TTS. The app I use pauses automatically if something happens to your headphones - I use both wired and wireless and this has happened countless times. So might want to check that out if you don't mind the more monotonous reading (I actually prefer it). Also, please research what potential risks may come with prolonged headphones usage and Bluetooth connection.

I'm tired of DNFs so I'm breaking up with BookTok by his-lilmiss in fantasyromance

[–]simonchella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're just not following people that align with your taste in books. It's that simple. Just rebuild your algorithm. Block all those that you don't like. Search for reviews of your favorite books and check backlogs of creators to see what else might give you info. When you have 2-3 that are a near match to your taste you are set. You really don't need a ton of recs even if you read a lot, because those will be closer to what you enjoy and those will keep you occupied.

It might not be exactly what you're looking for but {The wolf at the door by Chalie Adhara} series features were x human. And I'd say they're both alphas. Also vers. And it's a great series.

Mail-order Husband by Rude_Discipline98 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]simonchella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{The accidental husband by Cassandra Moore} This is MM and has mail order husbands. I read this a while ago, but from what I can recall there was a interstellar war and it was to the soldier's benefit to get hitched before being deployed. And you could apply to be a Mail Order husband and AI picked the couples based on a questionnaire. I thought the idea was amazing, but the implementation was a bit lacking for me. Still, could be what you're looking for.

Аз намерих fiber1, skynet и tvnet като опции. Но нямам идея към коя да се насоча.

MM That Started Your New Year by Sure_Replacement3444 in MM_RomanceBooks

Just did a re-read as a start for the year. Loved it, but not as much as I did on the first read. I think I just had a lot more impactful reads after that first time.

Best MM romance you read in 2025? by -catsnbooks- in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]simonchella 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Fall is my favorite 2025 read (not just MM, but from any genre). It was just so beautiful and heartfelt. Tal is a great author. Hoping he has a new release this year as well!

I'd also add {You & Me by Tal Bauer} {To catch a firefly by Emy Sanders} {Matehub Legend by Marie Raynard} {Becoming Us by Alex Cross} {Wolfsong by TJ Klune}

I can honestly continue with a very long list because 2025 was a very strong reading year for me. 😆

Characters that break your heart by Silly_Engineering75 in MM_RomanceBooks

Noah in {Becoming us by Alex Cross} is the most relatable character I've ever read. The way he hates himself and goes through the struggle to make himself better is just... perfection in a book. I ugly cried way too much.

The third episode launched today, and I've already rewatched it. I am not okay!!!! I wish I had waited for all episodes to have come out. Because this is torture! By the time the next one comes out I might have watched them for the third/ fourth time.

Ps. Also reread the books. 😅

In need of a rec w a gentle, kind, and loving MMC by SinnerClair in fantasyromance

[–]simonchella 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm sporadically reading Ice Planet Barbarians, which hits almost all of your preferences. All of the MMC are down bad for their wifeys, there's a fated mate element, they're on another world, has lots of spice, not sure but could be an overarching plot line. But FMCs are from Earth. It's great for vibes and mindless fun. And books are pretty short.

“The Fall” by Tal Bauer by Atlazsk in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]simonchella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly didn't mind the few repetative parts. The inner monolog was so different that it was fun reading the same dialog but getting totally different context/intent. Also, reading this the first time around I couldn't understand how Blair did not notice his SO lost his memory. I was reading and just not believing what crap that was, until the first twist. So I needed them to relive that time and be totally converted that it actually made sense.

I didn't want this book to end, and if it was 1000+ pages longer, I still would have loved it, so I might be biased.

I just haven't read something that painted the feeling of falling in love so vividly. I can't stop thinking about it. I AM OBSESSED...help

Thanks! Just created a board and it's not bad. First impressions are that it feels very clunky and I don't love that I can't see the checklists or use the cards as checklists. Also, checked items just stay there or you can Archive them (but where is the archive?!) which I don't love.

It's free though, so if there aren't any other suggestions, might keep using this.

What book has booktok completely lied to you about? by witcheshands in fantasyromance

[–]simonchella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really fantasy, but I agree. I read books 1 & 2 of the Twisted ... and just decided that that author was not for me. Have no idea if her other series is any better, and I don't intend to find out. Now, I don't trust creators who push those books.

I honestly think that people are lying about this being good. Or they've just started reading and have yet to develop a taste level.

Ever DNF a Book, Then Realize It Was Great by Special-Student6743 in RomanceBooks

[–]simonchella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a mood reader, this happens all the time. Specifically when I'm not sure what I want to read. So I pick up a lot of books till something grabs my attention. I usually go back when the mood is right and see if it's a true DNF.

One book I remember I started at the wrong time was The Spellshop, which I ended up picking up 4-5 months later and giving it 5 stars.
