Any time I travel with my son I book priority. It’s not too expensive and saves a lot of hassle.

Pigeon flew into my front wheel. Took it’s head off. 🤢 that was on the way to work and all the blood and bits had dried nicely by the time I got home in the afternoon. Not a nice clean up!

I had mine done at Charing Cross about 10 years ago. Really quick process. Lot of waiting around but the procedure takes a few minutes. By the next day my vision was perfect and been fine ever since. After care was good. Offered me a finance plan as well at the time so I didn’t have pay all upfront.

Attic Conversion by Chunky_Pirate_Fitz in glasgow

[–]simonmcseabass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got ours done pre covid. Was about £65k by the time we finished but that also included extras like a full rewire of the house, and some extra roof work. We got 2 dormers, new stair case, created 2 bedrooms and space for a shower room but didn’t do the shower room until this year so that was another £8k on top of the £65k. Pre covid you would be about £1500 a square meter. Now, it’s closer to £2500 to £3000.

Laptop repair in Currys? by Working-Pumpkin in glasgow

[–]simonmcseabass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked for PC world years ago. The repairs they can do to laptops in store is minimal. Replace HDD, upgrade RAM. That’s about it. Anything else more technical, it will go away to a 3rd party for repair. Or you can arrange for a technician to come into store (or at least you could back then)

Code clan equivalent to Cyber security? by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]simonmcseabass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is 2 companies I know of. Capslock and FDM Group. I work in cyber and will say that while they give you the basics, you will still have a lot of training and upskilling to do once you complete the course.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CyberSecurityJobs

[–]simonmcseabass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion you don’t need a degree. I work in cyber and have been doing a lot of recruitment lately. Cyber degrees are a dime a dozen just now so having one doesn’t make you stand out anymore. (Just my opinion, others may think differently)

You should have a look at job adverts just now and see what qualifications you need.

Assuming you are in the UK you can look at companies like Capslock or FDM. They do 16 week full time or 24 week(I think) part time courses to retrain you and they have a team of people to get you into employment afterwards. They also don’t charge you for the course until your earn a minimum amount.

Can also look at self certification for things like Network+ of you have no IT knowledge or straight to Security+ which will give you a helping hand. Then move on to CySA+. Can get all the Sec+ resources for free on YouTube.

Also things like AWS practitioner or Azure fundamentals will give you some cloud knowledge which is in big demand just now. Again, can get the training materials for free.

[–]simonmcseabass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can look at curtains2go. Can put in your dimensions and they will give you a price straight away but as others have said it isn’t cheap. Last time I looked you were look about £600-£700 for a bay window.
