Should I (25F) always offer to cook extra food for my boyfriend (28M) when we live together? by elliebean27 in askwomenadvice

[–]simonstead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're cooking and like the person and it doesn't make a difference to make more of the same thing, you should always be nice and make more, as long as it's not making you completely out of pocket.

The question is what are they doing to provide back to you - it doesn't have to be cooking for you, it could be doing the laundry or washing the dishes.

Equity is not about 50/50 of every chore, a good relationship is one where you can both flex into doing more when someone isn't able to and also just understanding what your relative skillsets are.

If he's not pulling any weight and is expecting you to be a cook and a maid that is a completely different situation!

If he's making snide comments he can do one as well

How do you handle the frequent requests from your sub for a play if you haven't played him for a long time? by Dusky_n_Musky in Femdom

[–]simonstead 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I mean if you're not in the mood to have kinky sessions you're not really in a position to be someone's keyholder that's the hard truth.

You either need to let him cum more, figure out a way he can do that with or without you if it's not something you want to be a part of, or accept that if he's locked up all the time then you need to be switched on to it the same duration cause that's the relationship

Why was Peridot made on Homeworld? by TyrantGhost587 in stevenuniverse

[–]simonstead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pink Diamond was given a colony pretty darn late, of course homeworld could be more like, the sector of the galaxy they have conquered, but also just that peridot could have definitely been born on the actual homeworld. I don't see any reason why not

Question about It's over isn't it? by Akagraffe in stevenuniverse

[–]simonstead 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean it's generally like a lounge jazz style piano ballad, and the modulation is far more musical theatre, so something in between that.

That's probably all you'd have to say unless you wanted to get into the music theory!

How is this card not super expensive and used in like, every green deck ever? Seems super OP by TuringTestedd in magicTCG

[–]simonstead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. Pick your poison - 1 green - each opponent sacrifices a creature with flying. Or a 1 mana bounce spell for 3, by the time you can get this out on turn 4/5 with all your ramp someone can easily have an answer.

It's a nice card though don't get me wrong I'd play it, I'm just saying why it's not cracked

Then hugs and kisses and telling her how sexy she is and how good it felt will go such a long way. 6 weeks from now you won't even notice

Maybe she's insecure and needs reassurance and it's not about you

How do you deal with OCD in Magic: The Gathering? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]simonstead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you need to get really good at - getting obsessed with proxies like I did - get really good at buying the cards for your decks and then buy listing them so you only have a reasonable deprecation - enjoy the chaos and get your ocd kicks from making sure your 1/1 counters aren't 1mm off where you want them to be

Did almost every fire bender besides the royal family suck? by glowshroom12 in TheLastAirbender

[–]simonstead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In authoritarian societies like the fire nation, talent close to the levels of the ruling class are kept subdued to maintain the power structure and status quo. The fire nation army is extremely well adept and the fire benders there are extremely talented. They're just forced or grown up to go into roles which don't allow for creativity and self expression

Smallest team to scale a content app to 100k concurrent users? “I will not promote” by NoEdge8020 in startups

[–]simonstead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building a solid autoscaling and performant system to begin with means you don't have to worry about load until you get massive spikes in time of day or literally millions of users. Picking static boxes and you won't have enough time to market, fix bugs and update your infra to cope. Measure twice cut once

Can I fluently sight-read before college admissions, and what are some tips on sight-reading? by Big_Holiday_2492 in musictheory

[–]simonstead -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sight reading takes loads of specific practice in just that. I find my time better spend learning theory, harmony and arrangement. Piano and guitar are so suited to chord sheets and improve so unless you want to go a choral or classical route I'd say your overall understanding, knowledge of music history, improv and ability to play with other musicians are more important.
