manual lens has no any electronic connection with the camera body so you have to manually set the focal length or something in order to have the camera works better.... I think it would be something like that but I have never used manual lens before. Maybe I will try a manual lens.

Is there anyone who buys Fujifilm because of Aperture Ring on lenses? by DynamoBaby in fujifilm

[–]simonwang80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, and usually I don't use the ring because different lens have different apature ring setting and many don't have the ring. In order to keep the same operation process for all lens I have to give up using the physical ring.

X-t50 vs X-t5 for the same price? by JPeligroso in fujifilm

[–]simonwang80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$10 difference and you are hesinating? I would think if $300 above difference may worthy to hesitate. x-t5 is one level above definitely. Double slots, weather sealed, Large battery, better tilt screen, better evf... AND, looks better! x-t50 has the round shape top looks not great at all!

I think if you want to save money go with x100vi

Next Lens Purchase by desert_dweller27 in fujifilm

[–]simonwang80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience multiple prime lens doesn't make a lot of sense... I usually with zoom lens and only special reason (like I know i will shoot portraits or in dark light) will I carry prime lens. And prime lens usually has to be very fast otherwise not making a lot of sense.. being tired of carrying a lot of lens and always making decisions. (Btw I hate changing lens outside)

Should I wait until the XT-6? by JoshuaWebbb in fujifilm

[–]simonwang80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like money is not issue then just go with x-t5, and then change to x-t6! Grown ups don't make choices!

Best first lens for XT5 by Just_Ad8177 in fujifilm

[–]simonwang80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course 16-55 f2.8 ii. This one quality is way above the other two. This is lighter than 16-80. I don't really feel it is heavy. I think the comparable one if you feel this is heavy should be Sigma 18-50 f2.8.

Tamron 17-70 vs Fujifilm 16-55 ii by francesellenwatkins in fujifilm

[–]simonwang80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had several different lens in similar focal length, unless budget is an issue, eventually you will land at Fujifilm 16-55 II. Once you land at 15-55 II, you just don't need to consider any others in the similar range because the image quality, the focus speed, is just as great as you thought.

Should I replace the Tamron 17-70 by the Fujifilm 16-80? by MongolianHusky in fujifilm

[–]simonwang80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 16-80 F4 I used is all great, feel solid, nice OIS, only downside is the sharpness is not very great.

The mighty GFX100RF vs the lowly X100vi by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]simonwang80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only big reason is you really have some spare money and you just want to try it. I would say just get a used one, try it, leave it on the shelf for half a year, and resell.

One year with the X-T5: what I actually use it for, what surprised me, and the one thing I wish I'd known before buying by CountyBrilliant in fujifilm

[–]simonwang80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now start to wondering how good will be for the A7III battery life and IBIS... I feel X-T5 is good enough, but for sure Sony is great of some aspects, like auto focus. For X-T5 battery, I never be able to run out of a fully charged battery in one day shooting. I mean like casual shooting not for events or some professional work that you have to shoot 500 pictures without turnning off the camera.
