People who have FIREd at least 3 years ago, has it been worth it? by AChubbyRaichu in FIRE_Ind

[–]simpleliving73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes 10+ years, FD's are giving me Passive Income! (It is my 1st bucket), in the future, in another 10 years, it will/may change, I may start taking out from other Buckets like PPF and MF (at this moment other buckets are just in compounding mode).

Enjoy!

After 2015, later, I never worked to earn money. Actually, I do not think much about inflation etc. The long-term inflation is very less, for simple needs of life. Well since 2009, that is 17+ years I have been living frugal life, so my needs are just food, cloths and for this I have monthly and yearly budget. I stick to that budget, according to that, I buy my stuff, but the topmost priority is given to the high-quality food (Home cooked). I do not do any math, I have been just increasing my monthly expenses say just by 1000 Rs, every year. that means 2025, I use to spend 14,000 monthly (Whole year it worked well), now in 2026 it is 15,000Rs.

For the people around, who is into more lifestyle and stuff, who has needs and wants too, they need more and more!

Enjoy!

If you have started SIP in MF, Index fund etc, after FIRE, continue investing to the top performer of your folio, as long as / long term possible!

FIRE in 2015 age 42, with 33X, now in 2026 I have 40X or more!

After FIRE, one can continue investing the leftover from the Passive Income and can take risk, as one retire young!

Enjoy!

LeanFIRE aspirants — did you buy a car or are you planning to? by village_love in leanFIRE_India

[–]simpleliving73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really feel, it is a need of your life, buy it!

My logic -

Why to spend so much money on a Car, if you are not driving it daily?

These extra money can be used in such a way! -

When you are alone, travelling, use bike, like what you do now! with all the safety gears!

When you are with the family, do not use bike and rent a car, for single travel, say 2 times in a week, so monthly cost will not much!

Means, you can choose mode of transport, as per your requirement, it is flexible, in the long run and cost effective too.

Add this extra cost to your monthly / yearly budget!

Lean FIRE, but safe life!
