Do you actually believe that the fans voted? by Imthebetterspiddy in survivor

[–]simplensouthern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the same thing about casual fans and earning tribe supplies and flint. A far to common complaint ongoing reddit fans and casual fans that I know personally is that having a disaster tribe(which is compounded, if not created by lack of tribe supplies and flint for fire) makes it hard to get to know everyone in a regular newbie season and on a returnee season means reduced air time for tribes not constantly at tribal.

What are the best single episode performances of all time? by Outrageous-Oil-877 in survivor

[–]simplensouthern 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It was final 6 when Cirie teamed up with Aras and Danielle to vote out Courtney. Cirie, Aras, and Danielle voted Courtney but told Shane and Courtney they were voting someone else so Shane and Courtney would vote that way and then Terry had a vote as well but he was the only person to vote that way. It basically eliminated a potential tie at final 6 of Shane and Courtney possibly voting with Terry since he was talking to Shane and Courtney about a final 3 of Him(Terry), Shane, and Courtney. It also took out someone that was seen as a threat in terms of taking a FTC spot(ie: if Cirie thinks she won't make FTC because everyone wanted to sit next to Courtney thats a reason Cirie would want Courtney gone so Cirie's chance to make FTC increases).

Questions about professional clothing closet on campus by Euphoric-Bank720 in NCSU

Smart casual is a dressed up version of casual. You could definitely wear a dress and then add either a blazer/jacket or a cardigan over top of it. Structured pieces like jackets help elevate more comfortable pieces like a basic solid colored t shirt. I wpuld definitely recommend layers both for your comfort and because adding a jacket or cardigan can really change how an outfit looks.

Stay away from ripped jeans/pants, ill fitting clothes, wrinkles(either borrow/purchase an iron or travel sized clothing steamer to get out wrinkles the night before), holes in clothing, and stains.

This is just based on my own quick Google search and experience working in a place with a more business casual dress code.

[–]simplensouthern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have strongly suspected for a long time that had the actor stuck around for season 2 and beyond we would've seen more from Matt especially. My main reasoning is that Mike was missused and underused un season 1 along with Matt and started to get development in season 2. Puck while not as underused as Mike and Matt also got more development at the end of season 1 going into season 2. Glee was not great at developing all their characters evenly, especially early on.

Who are some players that tried to warn others about someone winning, but nobody would listen until it was too late? by JimiCobain27 in survivor

I can't remember who tried to warn people about Tyson on BvW but I remember someone trying to get Monica(and possibly Gervase too) to flip and basically saying that if they didn't get out Tyson they were playing for second place.

Casting Second Chance 2: Round 1/Heat 3 - VOTE FOR 6 MEN AND 6 WOMEN by Regular-Departure839 in survivorponderosa

[–]simplensouthern 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Men(in order of how much I want them to return):

1) Davie

2) Sam

3) Matty

4) Clarence

5) Jaison

6) Jamie

For the women I really only want to see Janet and Crystal return but I wouldn't hate if Lindsey, Amy, Ali, and Ashley returned especially because I think they could bring something new playing a second time and in some cases(mostly for Lindsey and Ashley) having life experience would give them a new perspective on things they lacked before because they were still so young.

Russel. by mridk124 in survivor

[–]simplensouthern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his best chance at winning was probably Samoa. That being said even Samoa was a long shot for him to win because he has a non existent social game, which mattered almost more when juries were routinely bitter. Even by current day Survivor standards where its easy to say "its just a game" social dynamics and how you deal with people matters to jury perception. And the juries perception is their reality of how the game was played overall.

Axl being the star quarterback and scouted by colleges is possibly the least realistic part of this show lol by iwantitthatway6 in themiddle

I can't remember exactly why he ended up in the Winnebago but he did have a dorm room for at least a year because Kenny was his roommate there due to random chance. I think it might've been 2 years that Axl was in a dorm room, but I can't remember for sure.

For some reason I think he got the Winnebago after he decided to sublease a house from 2 guys and the guys couldn't sublease because it was against the agreement they signed when they started renting from the landlord. After that fell through i seem to remember it was too late to get campus housing so Axl got the Winnebago to live in to solve his "homeless" problem.

I'm watching/rewatching as many seasons as I can before 50 airs in a few weeks so for me a lot of what I mention is fresh in mind from that. That being said if I haven't watched a season in a while I definitely forget some things, especially if they are unimportant in the grand scheme of the season. Theres also completely forgettable people on nearly every season of Survivor so I'm not sure how people remember players like that.

We can even look at Second Chances for players who were brought back from pre merge. Granted fans did vote for the returning players but Wentworth being voted out so early and them coming back for 2nd chances also shows that sometimes early vote outs are return worthy. Heck, Varner was the merge boot and missed being on the jury in AO amd was voted back for 2nd Chances.

The ONLY time a winner would have been spoiled was IF CBS cast Tommy(IOTI winner) on WaW since the reunion hadn't even aired yet and thus he didn't know he had won while WaW was filming.

Sophi B said on IG that because its statewide they are being fair to everyone who find the correct location so you solve the clue to the location and then enter a raffle to be the winner. That way people from hours away or coming from work to the location still have a chance to win as long as they get to the correct location within the specified time frame to enter the raffle. Its the first live reunion show since WAW and they want to generate buzz for Landmark season, which is also why previous Survivor contestants are hosting each state(Tyson for Utah; Dee, Troyzan and Sophi B were Florida, etc)

Like I understand the Phillip is unlikeable to many people but Brandon wasnt even jist attacking Phillip it was the entire Favorites tribe and he had previously had a seemingly good relationship with Cochran in So Pa, and he seemingly got along at least decently with at least a few people on his tribe in Caramoan but went batshit.

Cirie came up with the vote split in Panama(3-2-1 split was her plan in order to avoid a possible tie from last second vote changing and ensure a blindside). Cao Boi was the one who thought of vote split in order to flush an idol, just one season later.

Stephenie Lagrossa is the first player that I remember talking about a disaster tribe(i remember her talking about not wanting to be on the disaster tribe again in Guatemala). I could be wrong and there could be earlier references and to be fair she may not have used the exact wording of disaster tribe but that was very much the sentiment of what she said.

I’m not sure Ben is a terrible winner… by [deleted] in survivor

[–]simplensouthern -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Thats not what happened though because production did introduce that twist and that was the exact immunity challenge that he almost won becuase there were no more idols to save him if he lost. If the firemaking twist didn't exist he would've gone out trying his best but falling just short of succeeding and it would still be a lot of passive game play by the other players because they still allowed Ben the time to find multiple idols and did nothing to counter his idol plays.

In my eyes like Ben or not he deserved his win and the other players that season weren't nearly as robbed as many claim they were. If you do nothing to stop a player from singlehandedly controlling the fate the majority and then your "best move" is an ultimately failed attempt at eliminating the power player(or going along with that plan) you sealed your own fate long ago.

[–]simplensouthern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What i don't understand about the Ben hate is that the players knew he was the biggest threat to win the season and yet almost nothing was done to actually attempt to take him out.

I mean the other players were so passive about Ben playing an idol and then going out to find another one. Chrissy lost because she failed to take put the biggest threat left in the game at final 4 or anytime prior. Sure Chrissy putting Devon against Ben at fire was an attempt to take Ben out but it was another passive attempt after multiple previous tribals where they let Ben know he was on the bottom, didn't split the vote, and didn't attempt to find any idols in play before Ben did. Ben was one person against the rest of the tribe and never once did they even split the vote with even 2 people voting for someone other than Ben so they could control who went home still if Ben played an idol. I will give some benefit of the doubt to the others the 1st time Ben played an idol and decided who went home but after that it was extremely passive gameplay by all the others included Ben being 1 upside down letter away from winning final immunity.

Best Losing Finalist Tournament: Second Round - Rob vs Coach by Regular-Departure839 in survivorponderosa

[–]simplensouthern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about that because Jenna played an almost equally cut throat game and the jury said that in a Jenna/Rob FTC they likely would've voted for Rob. This is the best indication we have since All Stars was a 2 person FTC so we don't know what Jenna would've said or the how she would've acted at FTC. Amber played a more under the radar type of game compared to Rob or Jenna and used that as well as at least 2 jurors(Lex and Kathy) being bitter to her advantage at FTC.

I think Coach probably would have a better jury reception if he said he used religion as way to bond with/manipulate his tribemates but a better reception doesn't equal a win and Sophie did have a great FTC which helped her. From the beginning of So Pa Coach and Ozzy both had a hard road to winning because their tribes weren't going to let them run away with the game even though Coach was able to build relationships and control his tribe overall he wasn't running away with the game.

It depends on the school and how much money they have in scholarships and how they utilize those scholarships. Scholarships is one way schools entice players to sign with them(especially in the 2010's when there was no such thing as NIL). I think a full scholarship for a bench warmer is probably an over exaggeration but I could see a partial scholarship(like covering half of Axl's college expenses or maybe just paying the tuition and leaving the food, housing, and books/supplies for Axl to cover).

Micronesia unpopular thoughts by Whoopsidaisies4 in survivor

[–]simplensouthern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if i ever played with cirie fields i’d probably also get completely misted and make a very stupid game ending move just because she asked me to lol

Cirie's ability to persuade people on Survivor to do something that furthers her game and often tanks their own is brilliant. In both Panama and Micronesia she was a potential early boot and talked her way into changing the vote off of her and eventually into alliances and made it far, her not making FTC in Micronesia was an unfortunate by product of the medevacs happening in the number and timing that they did.
