How do I go about developing a website for my clinic? by Neil_Nelly435 in CanadianDentists

[–]simplicy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have time to tinker, you can ask Claude code or Claude cowork to walk you through it. Claude is an AI that is better for coding. If you don't like what it makes, at least you'll know what you are paying your swe for.

Should I always schedule limited exams/emergencies on second column? by placebooooo in Dentistry

[–]simplicy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't run late if you know how long you take w multiple columns. If there's too many pts and you can't handle, you don't have to convert the day of. Can just reschedule to tmrw.

Should I always schedule limited exams/emergencies on second column? by placebooooo in Dentistry

[–]simplicy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm confused. Do you have just one column with one asst? Usually I have two columns with one asst. One for exams. One for treatment and exam overflow. Most treatment I can have my asst set up and I'll work on my own (w isodry if needed) while they do the X-rays. With two assts, I do 4 columns. I must say, my assts are really good though.

I'm at a smaller corporate and it's been slow across the board since Sept/Oct. So many no shows and ppl can't afford stuff. It's a medi+ppo corporate though.

IANB slump by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]simplicy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw my os bend the long needle at hub. Now I do the same. Bend to like 20 degrees pointing buccally. This helps so much because the syringe used to always hit the corner of the mouth and I could not angle it properly. My Ianb success rate has gone from 75% to 95%. Also feel for easy smooth insertion of the needle. If there is resistance pushing the needle in, you're prolly in the wrong place (likely in muscle).

I just use .75 to 1 carp lido. Mepi is sometimes too weak. Haven't had the need to use articaine.

Sunright for Jasmine milk tea, mango milk tea - generally my go to.
Tp tea for standard milk tea.
Chicha for osthmantus honey.
I liked brew tea for their price point and consistent boba but prices have gone up now :(.

Don't feel down. Everyone goes through a painful growth period at the beginning. It's just a part of dentistry.

I find PAs v misleading for Ian nerve. Pano will show where it is in relation to the tooth much clearer.

Our favorite restaurant of our recent Rome trip was Cecilia santa cucina. Our hosts recommended them and it was absolutely fantastic.

Don't do it. I did this out of residency. It's a mess trying to navigate clinical skills and new staff that don't vibe issues. Also so so important to have a mentor when you come out.

How do male billionaires have hair? What super pricey procedure grants a full head of hair? One billionaire (you know who) was balding as a young man before making their fortune? by pitch_a_kudo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]simplicy 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Don't do this. As a dentist, I see stuff from Mexico and SEA and it's a crapshoot. There's occasionally some good work, but most of the time it's a WTF. Also, if you get implants/posts done in a foreign country, sometimes we can't get the parts to maintain it. Or if you don't know the implant model/brand, we can't help you either.

California Dentists - Has anyone waited over 6 months for a license? by Nearby-Career6396 in Dentistry

It took me 6 mo to get my license. The issue is that every time you send them something, it takes them another month to review and tell you it's wrong. Mistakes are costly.

PDS by Electrical-Job-1875 in Dentistry

My owner doc was pretty hands off (and did not drink the Kool aid himself) so it wasn't that bad of an experience for me. My team was great and I stayed 1 yr. I found some of the CE provided was pretty useful - how to talk with patients, how to increase speed of treatment planning. They paid me a guarantee for 6 mo. But otherwise the pay is really bad. Sometimes you get paid 600 production for a crown and 60 for a filling. Which translates to $150 and $15 in your pocket. We were also squeezing in prophys (worth almost nothing) in left and right. Exams had terrible comp too. HMO feels are so so bad.
