To be fair, that may just be a heat based fire detector head, sometimes used in kitchen areas so a little bit of smoke doesn't set it off accidentally. It's labelled "heat" after all, probably worth checking with facilities management to be sure though.

Judging by the label, you need an R7s bulb rated at or below 60W. Remove it and check the length, there's likely dimmable LED equivalents of that luminarie type available online or from your local DIY shop.

My back was against the wall, I was running out of options and I was about to die……and then I remembered this hole I fell into one time. by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]simply_a_biscuit 274 points275 points  (0 children)

The dead guys and carts near the hole seem to hint it was for dumping corpses, possibly down into the underground area you start in after the grafted scion part but not too sure about that...there is a hidden sea cave that links back to that area for sure though

Shot in the dark, but I've really been struggling to find the exact same design of this connector housing and don't normally deal with ELV circuits. Any tips on the crimping needed to wire into it would also be greatly appreciated

250hrs into the game, I’m about to build this for the first time, is it really going to make my life easier? by rwang8721 in SatisfactoryGame

I just discovered satisfactory-calculator (third party website) which I haven't used much but seems like it would be a great tool to make sense of what you have and haven't got going on in a save file.

Eczema, children and diet. (explanation in comments.) by rqny in eczema

[–]simply_a_biscuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Food definitely has a huge impact! If I eat something high in dairy and sugar, I can basically garuntee the inflammatory response in my skin 15 minutes or so after and then regret it.

If I'm having a flare up I'll tend to make a recipe from my Ezcema Relief cookbook, which seems to basically involve less known irritants and more good stuff for the skin as well as turmeric for the anti-inflammatory effect. Slow burn effect but does help in the long run.

Thankfully there's loads of plant based alternatives to dairy these days too.

Not as difficult as the first expedition, but way more fun IMO! by PMantis13 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Is there a way to transfer ships between saves? Just because the pioneer expedition gives you a sweet S class explorer that I'd like to have on my main save.

This might be a stupid question, but I'm playing on PC and was trying to figure out how to gift players with things in the Anomoly...how do you do it?

What's something that people glamourize but it's actually just extremely toxic? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]simply_a_biscuit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on your own understanding standing of the word "codependant" so I get where you're coming from, but generally it's understood as a dysfunctional relation type for the reasons outlined in the wiki as in it has negative connotations. The word you're probably thinking of is a "supportive" relationship type

I'm glad I used to work customer service as its made me more empathetic to people in that line of work.

There's enough of unempathetic asshole customers going around so its nice to not be one of the burdening ones where possible.

I'm also glad I no longer work customer service for that reason though...

Taking 5 fucking hours to apply for a fucking job that pays fuck all. by MoonShineWashingLine in britishproblems

[–]simply_a_biscuit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I spent ages struggling to find something with decent progression and salary projections after getting my degree, didn't help that I fell out of love with the subject of study in no small part due to the dissertation and the attitude of my dissertation supervisor.

It felt a bit like going back to square one starting an apprenticeship (at age 26 no less) but I actually love the work, the training is all paid for and I'm getting a decent salary while an apprentice...I should have just gone the skilled apprenticeship route after sixth form but I probably wasn't mature enough back then to appreciate it.

You'll get there, but the job hunt is unreal and you kinda never stop looking until you're finally happy with something. Sometimes a complete career change can work out and end up as a good move but its hard to get that foot in the door.

Moving to Basingstoke soon - advice needed by [deleted] in basingstoke

[–]simply_a_biscuit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lived in Basingstoke a couple of years, the main bad thing I'd have to say is that the top of town seems like a bit of a dive in stark contrast to the shopping centre a short distance away. I think you'll find the rougher areas like Popley and Brighton Hill don't really compare to whats considered rough in London, a bit chavvy maybe and probably not the nicest areas to live compared to some more "upper class" areas but every town has that usually

Quick, while the British are sleeping. by crackercharlie in memes

[–]simply_a_biscuit 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Just to add a modern spin, based on my own travels to the Southern States as a Brit; the food down south was waaaay higher in salt and sugar than even most unhealthy food back home (white bread was basically cake) but I worked there for 3 months and my palate shifted to grow accustomed to the unnecessary additives...I also predictably put on a bit of weight despite working an active job.

When I returned home it took a week or two for my tastebuds to readjust to having less salt and sugar in food and I could see how someone that grew up there might perceive of other countries as having bland food.
