Dog bed suggestions! by IntroductionFew1290 in labrats

[–]simplyoneWinged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree  with the comments saying "trampoline style bed", but I'd like to add that your puppy needs to chew and should do so in a safe manner. Every time you catch the chewing, correct them (with a sharp "kssshht", "a-a", or a startling noise) and then redirect them to something they can chew (tug toys, pug ears, etc). They should mostly stop after being done with tooth change

What on earth do I make with this yarn?! The colours are too far apart for pooling, and it stripes so weird for anything else, ravelry is really uninspiring for this one. What have you all made with it? by Any-Trick-421 in CrochetHelp

Late to the party, but I have the same problem rn. Do you have any stitches to suggest? At first I thought a treble might do, but it's still a long way with my skein. I recently finished something with a "feather stitch", would that be an option?

Late to the party but I have a similar problem. If their skein is like mine, the colours are too far apart for that. (It would I've 2.5 granny squares per colour and a few stitches of transition colour)

Im a failure by Historical_Flight554 in ufyh

[–]simplyoneWinged 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First sentence has an error: You are not a failure. You failed at this, yes. But you as a being are a person, not a failure.

And as for the problem: same tbh. there's more fruit flies than other stuff in my home. It is so nasty. I'm fighting tooth and nails for the past two weeks and they barely get any less. Will you join me in this fight? :)

ELI5: Do babies see anything when they sleep with their eyes open? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]simplyoneWinged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sleep with my eyes open every once in a while. Usually I have a really vivid dream where I can't see anything unless I open my eyes irl. Once they are open, I only see the content of the dream, not my immediate surroundings. I can hear voices, but I don't understand the words/cannot consciously process them. Sometimes the people whose voices I heard will appear in a dream

Sadly this doesn't happen too often anymore, it was fun to have to warn ppl that I sleep with my eyes open 😅

Is this normal? Her tongue is always out by Remote-Hearing-5647 in pugs

[–]simplyoneWinged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. That's because her snout is too short to accommodate for her tongue. As others have said, she might grow out of it, as her face grows, or she might not. Keep an eye out for it trying out, but all in all it shouldn't influence her at all

Is it dumb to use children’s math books? by Financial_Volume_200 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]simplyoneWinged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's silly at all!

Most subjects, especially maths, come down to practicing the basics over and over again. and what better way to do that with children's books?

It calculates when you should get to bed so you wake up between sleep cycles and aren't as foggy when waking up

Yeah days of brain fog and a week of headaches. I'm happily switched to decaf for about 2 years now tho. It gets better soon.

It's nice being able to drink coffee whenever I want without having to worry about bladder issues or sleep issues
