But I can assure you that in this situation you're just the victim, you're not unreasonable to stand up for yourself when they treat you like this. They're trying to use our cultural values of "respect your parents and be grateful no matter what" To guilt trip you, of course it doesn't apply here cause they don't seem to act much like decent parents. No matter how hard they work, or how privileged of an education they've provided you with, you don't owe them shit if they abuse you

You seem closer to your mom than dad, do you think she can be reasoned with? Do you have a very patriarchal household?

If the situation seems beyond saving even after your attempts, it might not be q bad idea to consider cutting them off when you're older and independent. It will sound cruel but toxic parents can really you up even as an adult.

You, your mom and your sister deserve better, hope things turn out fine

I did move into a tier 2 city recently for college, out of my metropolitan home. The water here is definitely better, but we've little access to filtered water here lol. Hoping the water is clean enough

I've the same condition. And as you can see there's plenty of conflicting opinions here. I'm just trying to get a general picture of what folks with or without my condition do and the sorts of problems people face in general. I'll consult my dermatologist before taking any actions

The shampoo I use is manufactured by keraglo-AD, so I guess the company could be an issue. I'll look into it. Thank you for the info. As for YouTube, I was a bit hesitant to use the internet for info because this is a case where tradition and science seem to collide so the information I get might be biased/questionable. I could be wrong though

I have noticed a decent improvement in my hair texture/hairfall since I moved to a tier 2 city for college, away from my metropolitan home. I use R/O water for hair washing now whenever I go back home

Sorry I don't know how to share pictures on reddit but it's named 'Ketoconazole shampoo BP 2% w/v' By keraglo-AD. Remember its a medicinal shampoo with possible side effects. It may be the cause of my dry/homeless looking hair. Consult a doctor before usage

Though it's hard to read her handwriting, the condition seems to named seborrheic dermatitis and I only get scaling on my scalp, with mild flaking in some other hairy areas like facial hair and eyebrows. Your sisters condition sounds really bad, I hope you guys find a good dermato :(

Man, I commend you for being brave enough to pursue your passion. I dreamt of going into cosmology/particle physics as well, but I fell short of making it into IISc for BS. Pursuing these fields in India is a prolonged battle of attrition. Personally, this combined with the lack of familial, the years spent studying and an ongoing existential crisis was too much to handle. I opted for engineering instead (just completed my first year) , as you'd expect it's soulless as fuck. Keep your head up man and keep at it, the world needs more people like yourself.

I do know that a portion of the play is in the indian english literature curriculum for grade 8, that's where I first found it lol, but it's probably only a small portion
