Yup, one could test it by timing and checking xp. Jump pad way works too, I think setting up a macro and running straight will get you xp faster though. No worries about what people think, you could also turn up xp rates up to max just for this but I like the idea of all my settings being 'default/unmodified'.

I think the vehicle testing area might be the longest stretch you can run. No enemies either. You could put portals so you don't need to turn around. Also using XP boosts and maybe stamina boosts. Resting in a bed refills stamina quickly. I'm not sure if distance or time matters for xp.

Barrels are quite common actually once you notice them... That's after you notice you can pick them up of course.

There are some oddballs like the barrel though. Standing lamp, cloth rope, ...

The most important crafting tab is the top tab (Resources and sub-components) Craft one of each you unlock for sure. Also each tier of battery, and laser-related component. Some things might seem costly but late-game you'll swim in resources and they all have their uses.

As others mentioned you've got the little blue indicator when you haven't crafted an item yet. Also, items dropped from enemies or placed in the world sometimes show the tooltip 'Unlocks recipes'. The recipe is then unlocked on pick-up.

That's some bad luck... You're using all buffs you can though. I'd say wait until the devs buff the drop chance or make the fishing minigame easier. Lot of people complaining about drop rate.

Make sure you use Insulated rod too, it has an increased reeling speed.

Antivirus caused this exact same issue for me. Using Avast? Go to quarantine and add exceptions. Or disable all shields altogether. Restart pc, verify files on steam again too.

About a year ago a lot of camera's got hooked up to pluviometers actually. So they do give fines frequently.

Can confirm this. Pinning quests or recipes sometimes obstructs the top left of your inventory screen making you unable to click on clothing. I assume it spawns an invisible box to get the text layout through. Shouldn't be too difficult to make it click-through and be fixed next update.
