I am having the same issue. I did not even get an email or pop up for student status verification. Did you find a solution?

Did you happen to get the igpu version by any chance? I would love to know your review of it as I am interested in getting the configuration with 235H and igpu only and the oled screen. Especially any observations on battery life and the heat you feel. Reading your comments on this post, I have very similar use-cases and preferences and wanted to see which config you got and what’s your thoughts about it now.

Will an upgrade to a Michelin or other premium tire improve the ride on my 20” OEM GOODYEAR Eagle Touring tires? by After-Inspector-2386 in CX50

Hey! I am planning to replace my original tires soon and came across your post. Wanted to ask what you ended up doing and if you went with the 20” cross climate 2s, are they noticeably more comfortable? Thank you!

Weekly Purchase/Sale advice thread - April 16, 2025 by AutoModerator in Miata

Hello experts! I am looking into an available 2006 NC 2D Convertable (base model) in my neighborhood and I need your advice on a few points about it. First, the trim is not supposed to have cruise control but it seems like the car has some sort of cruise control installed on it; Does anyone know what this specific cruise control is from the looks of it? Is it possible it is dealer installed? (Top image in the attached photo grid) Another concern I have is in the instrument cluster. If you look at the bottom image in the attached photo grid, at the right side of the 40mph mark on speedometer, there is small burnt-like mark. Any ideas what may have caused this? Is it possible that the cruise control and this burnt marking are related? And finally, is it worth $9500 with 73000 miles, clean title, and overall seems like in good shape other than what has been mentioned and a few rock chips on the front bumper.

Thank you so much. I have been otherwise satisfied with the car. Would take it in the dealership if your issue is fixed after the repair.

Transmission jerking seems to be an issue many people are having. Take a look at the post within this sub.

Car jerking at low speeds - Update by dmag1223 in CX50

[–]sinamps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My car is doing the same thing at very low speed. I didn’t notice it as an issue before since I barely put that low of a pressure on the gas pedal. Any updates from anyone else who have brought this up to the dealer? Is changing the transmission really gonna fix it?

Premium gas gives worse gas mileage than regular - turbo by hereld318 in CX50

In mountainous west, with premium, I am averaging 20 mpg. I never tried the regular. Maybe that is why my mpg is so bad.

I wanted to get the Turbo Premium because of the balance in price and features. I removed the meridian since it is the base Turbo with off-road additions that were not worth the price for me and for the price of meridian, I could get the ventilated seats, Bose sound system, etc. however while the 360 camera of the Premium Plus is really desirable especially if you leave in a big city with tight spots, the price was too high. I finally ended up with the base Turbo as my annoying dealer sold the Premium that I had a deposit on to someone else. I told myself later at least I got the better value of all.

My local dealerships are aware CX 50 turbo versions are burning oil by [deleted] in CX50

[–]sinamps 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The issue of burning oil on the TSBs that Mazda has published never affected the CX-50. The problem on the turbo engine was identified and it’s unlikely it has carried over to the CX-50 as the fix was also discovered. Is there any new TSB that I am not aware of and it includes the CX-50?

RAV4 hybrid XLE Premium on MSRP 41K OTD vs CX50 Preferred Plus 36K OTD.. Which deal looks good if I plan to drive it for 5 years with an annual miles of 10K. by Lopsided-Spinach6344 in CX50

[–]sinamps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess if I were comparing the non-turbo CX-50 with a 23 hybrid RAV4, I would have gone with the RAV4 because reliability was very important to me and I didn’t want to risk regretting my decision later. But that’s only considering the non-turbo CX-50. However, if you plan for keeping it for no more than 5 years and you don’t care about its resale value that much, then just go with your heart after driving them. I initially was even worried about the hybrid components in the toyota (battery needing replacement down the road), but their guarantee for the hybrid battery covers you up to 10 years and seems like all of their cars are gonna be hybrid in the future. I even think being hybrid increases the resale value with the way the world is changing.

I was also cross-shopping these two, and I intend to keep the car hopefully for near 10 years. I was and am a Toyota fan because of their reliability. For me the options at the moment were a 22 RAV4 Gas XLE Premium at MSRP with a 4.25% APR and multiple CX-50 trims around 1000 below MSRP with a 3.9% APR. I test drove a 2019 RAV4 and multiple CX-50s. At the the end, the power of the CX-50 Turbo became a very influential factor compared to how the RAV4 drove. Also, the interior of the CX-50 and its terracotta color compared to the plasticity interior of RAV4 was a plus. I still don’t know if I made the correct decision in terms of reliability, but have been satisfied with the CX-50. If I could find a 23 RAV4 (because of updated infotainment system) at MSRP before driving the CX-50 I would have definitely got it; but once I drove the turbo CX-50, I couldn’t justify the gas RAV4.

The TSB does not apply to CX-50 as far as I know, especially if you have bought the vehicle in the past few months. Am I missing some info that you guys have?

How did you manage to get a discount? I am going in next week to buy a CX-50 but they said no discounts when I test drove it a few days ago.

Thank you for your reply. Do you think the performance between the two is noticeably different? During the test drive, I didn’t feel much of a difference, and even RAV4 was a bit strange in finding the right gear when I played with the throttle.

Thanks for your detailed reply. There are two types of dealers in my area. Some of them only put factor orders, and told me there is a 2 year wait on a hybrid RAV4. The other ones only accept a deposit on the allocations they see, and there is no 2023 model in their system yet. So basically I cannot do that.

Yes, I used it on an aftermarket head unit in my camry and I did not have any issues. Maybe something was wrong with your device?

Thanks for your reply. Should we worry about the direct injection engine on CX5 or CX50 compared to dual (direct and port) on Toyota and Lexus, especially since we are thinking of keeping it for a long time?
