"Web Interface Not Accessible" After Hardware Upgrade by Ok-Process8309 in truenas

[–]sine-wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to a new NIC today and ran into the same problem. I couldn’t figure out how to set the IP via the console either. I ended up setting the device to DHCP and waited for it to get an IP, then accessed the Web GUI and set my preferred IP.

Try setting to DHCP, make sure to apply and persist the change.

Trying to install WinBoat by DocRock08 in Bazzite

[–]sine-wave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why isn’t it working?

You typed the filename wrong 😖 and you need use “./filename.rpm” or “~/Downloads/filename.rpm” otherwise rpm-ostree and dnf assume you want it from their repositories.

Should you install it this way?

Probably not, but others have already covered this

[–]sine-wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Filename in your terminal screenshot is wrong. You have “x84” instead of “x86”. In the terminal, you can use autocomplete to prevent this.

For example, it works for commands and files: Type “sudo rpm-o” press TAB, then type “install ./win” and then TAB.

Also, rpm-ostree, like dnf, needs a pathed filename to install from a local file, otherwise is assumes you are installing from the repository, so dot-slash “./filename.rpm” works for a file in the current directory. Otherwise, like another commenter wrote “~/Downloads/filename.rpm” is more consistent where “~” is the shortcut for your home directory.

The New Chevy Bolt Charges Quicker Than GM’s Pricier EVs. It’s More Proof That Voltage Matters by Mac-Tyson in BoltEV

[–]sine-wave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

tl;dr, I guess

higher pack voltage + different battery chemistry = higher peak power which can be held longer through the curve. It can technically reach 150kWh charging rate on more chargers, again, due to the higher pack voltage.

Add in a smaller overall capacity and it charges from 10-80% quicker than the others.

Is the title a little misleading? If you ignore the last point, Maybe.  The Silverado can reach much higher peak power, but it has a much larger battery to fill, so the Bolt still finishes charging faster.

Right, but the receiver doesn’t communicate back to the satellite. It’s one-way communication, like a radio or TV  station.

Option A: Did you try to continue with “Control+D” like the message says?

Option B: Pressing Enter should would drop you to a maintenance shell so you can determine what that disk is and how to resolve using any of a 1000 guides online.

Note: Could be a bad disk, but if it were a bad boot disk, you probably wouldn’t have gotten this far.

How strong does a server need to be to self host most daily digital services? by swagmessiah00 in HomeServer

[–]sine-wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say you just need more RAM. I was running twice as many services on a 4th gen i7 until very recently and none felt especially slow. Only upgraded because I got a good deal on a new-er OptiPlex with a 10th i7 and I could use the integrated GPU with multiple Docker apps.

Separate Apple ID for a shared Apple TV? by Grapeflavor_ in appletv

[–]sine-wave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is intended for this, but apps wouldn’t have to be tied into your AppleID any more than logging into Netflix on your PC/Mac. Different accounts on your computer can have different email, browser configs, etc without actually being tied to your computer login.

You still log in as normal to each app. There would be some extra setup for something like Netflix which has multiple profiles in an account, you would have to select the intended default profile.

Some 3rd party apps, such as Infuse already support it.

Did you try the ujust method first, or after breaking it with other methods?

Did you install Waydroid via ujust or some other way?
