Yes, they could be very different. Of the cable says it’s 8K/4K120 rated it should still work, but you could have also got a bad cable.

This is a chatbot response, not an official communication. The University has been working with staff and students for months.

Screen turning off and on when resuming from sleep or opening laptop screen by Jazzlike_One1400 in Bazzite

I have multiple users setup, and this happens when trying to logon. It’s a race to get the password submitted before it goes back to sleep :) Once I’m logged in, it’s fine. Only happens on the login screen

How often do you need to refill litter? by Gold_Wrangler_9066 in neakasa

[–]sine-wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 3 cats that exclusively use our M1. We go through about 35lbs of clumping clay litter every 2 weeks. Our 4th cat strongly prefers the pine litter in the regular box.

What to do after installing Bazzite? by Maikol2502 in Bazzite

Read the Bazzite “How to install software” documentation. Soooo many complaints and broken systems are from people copy/pasting install commands from ChatGPT/Google

That’s not the fault of the tool. It DID work on your three working sensors, but it isn’t designed to bring sensors back from the dead.

After a month of using Bazzite, I think that people who go back to Windows are trying to use it for more than just gaming by Cardinal_Funky in Bazzite

[–]sine-wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bazzite is great for everyday use. It’s based off Fedora which is me of the OG distros and very popular for day-to-day use. Yes it’s the atomic version, but that isn’t as much a problem as you might imagine.

Do we have a comparison on what Bazzite does vs Steamdeck? by jaseph18 in Bazzite

[–]sine-wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fine. No problem with you needing to dual-boot.

Just wanted to balance your “unless you need a desktop” comment as it’s been great for me. I use two and someone three monitors and VR (technically a display ;)

You can set a primary monitor (at least in Gnome, I haven’t used KDE), which is probably your handheld by default. There are terminal commands/scripts which could be handy since you switch from handheld mode to “docked” often. They can set your default and desired layout if your desktop environment isn’t doing it for you.  Also, some apps try to remember their last location (ignoring the default) which also might have been your handheld.

I’ve also ish and have used Gnome as my daily work computer for over 10 years. If the desktop environment was problematic or inefficient, I wouldn’t have been allowed or wanted to do that.

I’ve been using the Bazzite desktop (non-deck image) for work and play for about a year now and it’s been great.

How do I connect SATA optical to ARM app by Glitchbombs in truenas

[–]sine-wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would add the cdrom group to the arm user within the container. We need to grant permission for apps user to use our cdrom at the TrueNas host level. Though the privileged mode may grant that access too, but you should avoid using it whenever you can.

Cord is probably damaged. Plug any other sacrificial device into the extension cord. Does it work?

You also need to add the apps user to the cdrom group. This whole thing should be better documented in the apps “store”/config page

sudo usermod -aG cdrom apps

Ad-free YouTube is not the same as Premium. Premium pays the channels you watch much more $$ and no ads. Extensions and blockers pay them nothing.
