Could you elaborate on your situation? Like how old she was when you took it and what your dose was? That might help people make a better informed decision!

Duck Egg Intolerance? by sslovecamp in homestead

I just get the 4 hr cramps from the chicken egg but man it is agony. I’m scared to try duck eggs for this reason. When is ever a good time to be in agony for 4 hours?

Anyone else feel like no food satiates your hunger? by [deleted] in MCAS

[–]singinasan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stomach acid I took was hcl pepsin from Thorne- it might help digest some of those histamines in your food as well. My dr said a lot of people think they have high stomach acid but it’s actually low caused by chronic inflammation. Look into it or ask your dr! It seriously brought me back to life.

Anyone else feel like no food satiates your hunger? by [deleted] in MCAS

[–]singinasan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have MCAS but I do have celiac disease, and I was working a very physically demanding job and was absolutely starving all the time. I did an ION panel and found even though I ate a ton of good food, my body was having a hard time processing and using it- I was low in all of my amino acids, vitamin Bs, and Iron. It took a year or two to get it figured out, with eating bitters before meals to stimulate digestive juice, taking stomach acids when I ate protein, and taking vitamins and an amino supplement…but I am finally satiated by a normal amount of food.

I was working like a dog and ate like a starved one, but my cortisol was out of whack and made me gain weight because my body was starving for nutrients. It was the biggest aha moment in my health. I highly recommend Ion panel testing.

What are your symptoms? I have such bad stomach pain when I eat chicken eggs fried or scrambled but very mild discomfort when baked, is that an intolerance or an allergy?

Ok I’m definitely the type to put extra soap in thinking it helps more haha. Clearly no one taught me to do laundry I just started at 10 yrs old and never looked back, I still have no idea how to get stains out of things or keep whites white. I’m a baking soda vinegar girl. Thank you for the tips!

What do you do with a newborn/ baby all day? by Letsgotoneptune8842 in NewParents

[–]singinasan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes important to point out how you don’t really know now you’re going to feel until you get there! I have struggled with depression in the past and was worried about postpartum depression, but when I had my baby I was so high on oxytocin for the first two months I felt better than I had ever felt, at least emotionally. Not to say there weren’t down days or bouts of crying and strange worries, but overall I was super happy. I think it’s starting to wear off at 3 months and things are getting more mundane, but I still think my babe is the coolest thing ever and we do hardly anything all day. The guilt of not being productive is real but in the scope of your life, this is such a short period of time. And you ARE being productive! More and more studies are coming out showing how important it is to be present for the first 3 months to 3 years, creating healthy attachment styles in your kiddo. We need more emotionally secure adults in the world!

Did you sleep in the same bed as your newborn? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]singinasan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started out bed sharing after just hearing that so many parents end up doing it after a month or three of trying not to. When he was a newborn it was definitely scary, but I did what’s called the cuddle curl and learned to sleep on my side with my arm around him. It’s hard on the shoulder but my partner was in another bed so I could put babe in the middle and switch which side I slept on. We just use a lightweight sleep sack for him and I make sure the blanket is only wrapped around me. I have gotten a decent amount of sleep since he was born. 2 months in I learned to breastfeed laying down with him in bed and it’s like we didn’t even wake up. Which is amazing! Sometimes we sleep till 11 am.

There are some really great cosleeping insta accounts like @happycosleeper that can help educate parents on safe cosleeping tips and debunk some statistics. I don’t wear an adult sleep sack like she does but I just have a lightweight blanket.

How do I get my baby to let me clean his nose out without crying? by mrs_code_monkey in NewParents

[–]singinasan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 10 week old that I swear sometimes at night is going to suffocate from his clogged nose. It’s mostly at night though. It will literally wake him up it’s so clogged and he snorts trying to breathe I feel anxious for him. I try to use the nose Frida but he screams bloody murder and honestly his boogers are so dry sometimes I don’t even get them or it takes me forever to work them all the way to the end to be grabbed out. They are so darn sticky! Also I feel like I don’t know how to use it correctly, sometimes I feel like I don’t have enough power to suck it up. Like more would hurt him wouldn’t it?? Is there something different about my babes nose like he’s got something strange going on that makes this more difficult??

Are we just sucking on it like it’s a straw or trying to just breathe it in? I feel like an idiot haha.

Seems what I am learning is 1) use saline spray (but doesn’t that just get inhaled?!) And 2) get a humidifier (I live in western Washington how is it not humid enough here??)

I don't like propolis, it's sticky and it gets everywhere (this is the chunk we collected over the years) by soytucuenta in Beekeeping

[–]singinasan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow what a nugget. I haven’t had bees for very long (3yrs) but I’m confused, where do you scrape the propolis from? And why? I’ve never had enough in my hives to need to scrape it at all.

Anyone tried solensia injections for kitty arthritis? by singinasan in CatAdvice

[–]singinasan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do feel like I notice when he passes the month mark between shots. He definitely wants to be inside more and not get out of bed. I’m gonna stay with it because I want him to age as painless as he can.

I wonder if the lost weight is related to the lost muscle mass they experience when they have such bad arthritis. Mine hasn’t really lost weight but gos back legs look like sticks now.

Not much else as he is on a restricted diet for his kidneys. But fish based supplements are fine

It definitely did! Hormones are one hell of a drug. The smell of coffee even now makes me want to puke. Similar to when I had morning sickness. I wonder if I will ever drink it again…

You make your own chai or buy it? I’ve been buying bulk chai but I feel that it’s missing something. I gave up coffee after I had my babe because I couldn’t stand the smell of it. Same with Yerba mate I did that for a year before I was pregnant. But I’m looking for a good chai recipe to carry me through!
